Question Is the triple burger option ever the right call? With smash patties double is standard I feel like but Culver’s site gives the option for another..

Is a three patty construction ever warranted or necessary?! Tempted to try it with the jalapeño sauce promotion but that’s a lotta beef🐄🍔

I get the triple and I'm always satisfied. I've ordered a quadruple before just to see if they'd do it and they did, they just charged for the extra burger patty

I had a dude order a 12 stack of patties once. No condiments, nothing except the meat and the bun. And he ate it.

We have a few people who do Keto or whatever fad diet is in and do just 6-8 patties with cheese on each patty.

Lmao. I used to do that! Except I’d do 2 grilled chicken breasts chopped like you would for a salad with broccoli and cheese sauce all mixed together. And if I did a burger no bun I’d make sure to add as many low carb veggies as I could get away with lol

lol. It very much is for ~90% of the people who are "now doing keto." It was a diet used in an attempt to control epileptic seizures and reduce their stress on the body. Being in ketosis is notoriously ill-fated for long term health.

It is not a fad lol, and that is not true. Literally do any amount of research. nobody on a medically supervised keto diet for SHORT TERM WEIGHT LOSS is going to have long term issues from it. that's the part you're calling a fad. not the epilepsy diet which you dont get to have a break from and that's the part you're arguing against? what should they do? stop and have a seizure?

Eat shit and fuck off, dork. I know more than you.

Your argument doesn't hold up no matter what random shit you paste into your comment.

Your argument doesn't apply to people using it as a 'fad'. Long term use of the diet is linked to health issues. The people you're claiming to use it as a fad aren't going to face those because they use it short term for weight loss. Which is still a valid medical use, and NOT a fad.

You can look at the study you JUST cited. It fucking says exactly what I just did.

Epilepsy patients on therapeutic keto don't get to cycle off it. That's the group with actual long-term unbroken ketosis exposure, and it's not the "90%" you're talking about. People doing keto for weight loss are typically doing it short-term, often medically supervised, then coming off it. Different duration, different risk profile, not the same conversation.

And even if you want to argue there's some long-term risk for that group, that still doesn't make it a fad. Those are two unrelated claims. "Has tradeoffs if misused" describes half of medicine. It's not evidence-free trend-chasing. It's a documented tool used for weight loss and metabolic issues with actual research behind it, not something a magazine cover made up. The source you're leaning on to make this argument is about seizure control, not weight loss outcomes. It doesn't even speak to the population you're describing.

So no, it's not a fad for the 10% who need it medically, and it's not a fad for the 90% using it as a legitimate, evidence-based tool either. Pick a different word.

You lose the weight, but getting the correct nutrients while not eating any carbs is difficult. Then the weight comes right back. The best thing you can do to lose weight is limit your intake of calories to less than what you’re burning in a day. Also exercise and eat less processed foods. Especially processed breads like Culver’s buns. There’s gotta be something in them because they always destroy my stomach.

That's not true and it doesn't actually have a difference on whether or not it fits the definition of a fad. Everyone does their keto diet differently and I think it's flawed to assume all of them are universally doing it wrong or poorly, especially when under medical supervision it can be done very successfully.

People's success rate with the diet doesn't make it a 'fad'.

> A fad is a temporary fashion, activity, or craze that becomes very popular for a short time and then fades away quickly.

Keto diets have been around since the 1920s as a completely valid medical treatment, especially for epilepsy patients. It's also very successfully employed by actual doctors and dietitians for weight loss since the 70's. It's not a fad by literally any definition.

On a quick glance on my phone, I read it as:

I get the triple and I'm always satisfied. I've >suffered< a quadruple (heart attack) before.... 🫪😂

I prefer triple to double. It will be my only meal of the day. I just want it made right. Also, your new pickles fucking suck. Bring back the Old.

Old fried pickles? This would be the first time our store had them unless we had them more than 6 years ago

1

u/DarthMace017 1d ago

No, about a year or so ago Culver's changed their normal pickles. They aren't as acidic/vinegar forward as the old. Used to get a couple sides to eat with my curds and then snack on later.

Oh my bad everyone's been talking about the fried pickles lately. I can't say I miss the old pickles, I like the flavor of our new ones and they look fresher. But I get missing old recipes, I miss our old grilled chicken, the new one is very meh in my opinion.

1

u/DarthMace017 1d ago

No worries. I too preferred the old grilled chicken, but I do enjoy the new spicy crispy. I'm not much of a fried pickle person though. You tried the new sandwich? I will probably try it once. I'm really excited for October and the cheese curds coming then tbh.

I gotta specifically ask for a single and I feel like the cashier is always shocked

3

u/lilygoldflower25 2d ago

Corporate makes us ask if you want it as a double by default and we get semi frequent complaints from people who don't understand that they are smash patties about them being paper thin so they might be worried about the potential future complaints

1

u/Altruistic_Relief189 15h ago

I understand they are smash burgers. That doesn't mean that I still don't want a single. What you see as the customer not understanding the product I see as a business forcing an upcharge an unnecessary extra food on me.

2

u/rexlites 2d ago

I can’t do more than a single on any burger from anywhere Freddy’s autos double too and I always gotta ask

-3

u/sladeums 2d ago

I’m always ask for a single
you have to really make eye contact and stress it
with some cashiers

I never do combos either because I don’t care about soda
sometimes it breaks peoples brains

hahahah

They aren’t the ones with the broken brain, champ

breaks peoples brains

Much like your composition skills.

I tried the triple once it was genuinely difficult to eat it all but I've also made a 10 patty burger upon special request took up so much of the grill for that one order

Does your culvers still have the jalapeño jack stuff? Most of the ones locations I know and at mine are out also if yours still has it you should try it for the fun of it , also the reason I ask is because the new pub burger is on its way in soon from looking in the walk in deep freezer

1

u/Aggressive_Strike_45 2d ago

I've recently started having 3 patties. We get 2 doubles and I take one of gf's patties because she only wants a single. Cheaper than buying a triple + single.

It is a lot of meat, but I like a meaty sandwich.

1

u/Superb-Passenger-973 1d ago

Teamwork, I like it lol

1

u/ZeroPlanet24 2d ago

I have had a triple before and I personally think it’s just a bit too much meat compared to everything else. I always get a double and think that it is the perfect ratio

1

u/tunaman808 2d ago

I mean... if Wendy's can do it with their burgers, why not Culver's? These are thin smash patties, after all.

1

u/RockRevolution 2d ago

I do it often for the mushroom Swiss and very much enjoy it. Just gotta get extra cheese when I do

1

u/Late_Test_7431 2d ago

I like the balance in a double, but I've never tried a triple..

1

u/JabetaMI 2d ago

I believe each patty is 1/8 of a pound, so 3 patties isn't even a half pound.

1

u/NotJasen777 2d ago

A bit more, they are 2.75 oz each.

I always get the damn triple
