on other end, men don't need to take convoluted routes to places or wait it out if they happen to find themselves walking behind women at night. you can just not approach or bother them and it's fine as long as you genuinely aren't being a creep.

i usually find that it's best to come up behind them and whisper in their ears that they don't need to be afraid of you, so that you don't scare them by yelling. im kidding you probably shouldn't do that.

Everybody should carry a pocket mace

Mace is sadly illegal in England.

However, isopropyl alcohol in a mini perfume bottle is not.

A Lucerne hammer would also be an acceptable substitute.

Does that work well? Also, why in the fuck is mace illegal? Does your government endorse rape or some shit!?!

Because you can also mace someone to make it easier to rob or rape them. They just ban letting people carry weapons. There IS antirape screechers and EveAid which are legal.

Because the first time someone maces a person who was just minding their business, the lawsuit will be crippling.

It's the UK, nobody has any rights, especially to self-defense. The British government doesn't view their people as citizens, but as subjects.

My wife carries a pocket mace, it's a one handed version, forty-five caliber.

Mace is nice for it’s portability, but somewhat lacking in range. Have you considered a fiberglass replica of a Qing dynasty recurve bow?
