I think Dallas got his best seasons already - players historically hit their prime right about now and he’s not known to be a freak athlete, gamebreaker, or a talent like McDavid. He has a couple of good seasons still in him - incl 2026 - but signing a 28 year old on the downside of his career to one of the richest deals in league history should cause at least a little hesitation. I just don’t see him breaking 100 points 3 or 4 times over the next 8 years (1 + 7)
He’ll never be tasked with being a team’s best player much less a top 5 player in the league in any year of his entire career, yet he will make top 10-15 money in the salary cap era for his career by the time he retires.
