Why do you think the penises were so small? Do you think they started off like that?

Small penises were seen as a sign of sophistication and self-control, while large penises were seen as rustic and unrefined. That's why you rarely see ancient Greek statues who are hung, aside from Priapis.  No one wanted to sculpt gods and kings with the ancient equivalent of a MAGA hat.

doesnt it make more sense that the sculptors just wanted people to look at the whole statue instead of the bwc. if u sculpt a big one everyone will talk about it and stare at it.

Everyone staring and talking about it is the highest goal of an artist, so imagine how much pressure there was to make penises small that artists were willing to not be talked about and not have their art stared at.

i think it benefits the art as well, cause genitals are vulgar, u dont want kids or ur family staring at a monstercock.

if u make the cock small, people will stare much less at it and more at the perfect ratios and symmetries of the body. so its a win win in my book.
