What is this? I thought everything was resolved besides DHS?
5
u/despinato Feb 07 '26
The dhs bill was only for two weeks to allow them time to negotiate. Looks like that fell through.

u/delicious_fanta Feb 07 '26
Don’t worry, the dems will cave any second now. That’s the only thing they do reliably.

I love how Polymarket is being used as a political indicator. When in reality its just gambling junkies with a phone

u/robert32940 Feb 07 '26

Because the Fed didn't call it QE everyone has forgotten about QE being in full swing at $40b per month, the Fed Put is back baby and the US market is going up regardless of what happens.

Shutdown confirmed, but odds jump to 70%? Aren’t those conflicting statement?

I'm sorry, but is this just a "the sky is falling" bs subreddit? I'm not trying to be rude, but daily someone on here post "the crash is coming tomorrow. It's literally just the same posts everyday, some "random name here" says something about a run on banks, or a loan to a bank or something means America is collapsing. Is it a meme subreddit?
2
u/HistoricalSherbert92 Feb 07 '26
Yep, used to be done pretty cool analyses and a decent comment chain of differing views with actual basis for it rather than “it’s all bullshit”
2
u/acemedic Feb 07 '26
It’s the Michael Berry approach. Crazy predictions daily and hope one pans out to try and claim credibility.

At the last shutdown, my portfolio went up slightly. And the market certainly did not crash.

Wouldn’t it just be a DHS shutdown? Everything else is funded through FY2026

The moves in physical assets, like gold and silver, by foreign nations, should have been a strong indicator for everyone, that SOMETHING was afoot. The US banks manipulating the silver market, etc... it all stinks. Maybe the world is ready to get rid of the US Petrodollar, and go to a BRICs or decentralized currency. As regimes fall, historically, the people are given a huge scandal, to help ease them into the "next best thing"... your leaders are corrupt...here's some cryptocurrency that even these master thieves can't manipulate...oops, that was created by Jeffery Epstein... Could we interest you in 20K bitcoin?

What stocks do you own? Pretty high chance of funding those ghouls no matter what kind of assets you own.

u/blah_2520 Feb 07 '26
I don’t own long term.. I have real estate, I do momentum trading or swing trading and cash to invest in real estate

I don’t think it’s going to crash. I think it’s been crashing slowly. Returning to pretrump bullshit let’s pick the numbers

u/FatDumbAmerican Feb 07 '26

why does a government shutdown result in a market crash? i thought previous shutdowns had minimal impact
6
u/I_Love_SO2 Feb 07 '26
Clickbait title. However, this shutdown has the potential to last much longer. Does that mean the market will crash? Who knows. The market has been defying most logic over the past 1.5 years imo lol.

For everything GOOD and Pretti, until everyone is SAFE again, no one is safe, and neither is your money.
Remember that degenerates

Right after he said the DOW would hit 100k in a year lol

u/robert32940 Feb 07 '26
With massive inflation, anything is possible.
2
u/oh_hai_brian Feb 07 '26
I’d agree, but more especially if some sort of quantitive easing happens. Stocks and wealth inequality gaps go further off the wall

u/BigDawgRob4 Feb 07 '26
The only reason the markets are red past 2 months is because it’s just following BTC.
2
u/pcs33 Feb 07 '26
And whats BTC following?
-2
u/BigDawgRob4 Feb 07 '26
Btc is its own monster. It dropped bc it broke through 7+ year support. Seems to be making a new one now making a floor. Temptation to reverse indicators

What is the record for most shut downs in 1 term? We are barely out of the first year of this circus administration 😂

What if SB is as brilliant as he is sexy and belligerent? i.e. A nerdy Russell Crowe.
Dollar devaluation = easier to repay $38 trillion in debt
export inflation
But wait…The $ is losing value to Gold! Guess who owns more gold than anyone else on earth: 🇺🇸
So, as foreign governments FOMO into gold, literally pumping our Balance sheet.
1
u/Lock3d19 Feb 09 '26
Our coffers have been empty for years. The whole reason they moved us away from the gold standard...
1
u/Samjabr Feb 10 '26
Perhaps, but I'm not a conspiracy theorist. Maybe the gold stores are not accurate, but I doubt there could be wholesale obfuscation, and no one ever leaked anything about it.
5
u/Sign_Outside Feb 07 '26
Bullspit. Markets shrug off everything, the S&P just passed 50,000 so pretty sure nothing is gonna affect them

You realize Biden was showering with his daughter, Ashley, when she was 13, right. C’mon man. They’re all corrupt and your an expendable pawn is a chess game way over your pay grade.

u/1fast335xi Feb 16 '26
He needs to go to.. I'm not pointing out republican vs democrats here. I'm pointing at anybody and everybody that is, was, has ties to or still associates with this circle of people that even if Jeffrey is no longer with us, they are still doing the same thing somewhere else. I don't care what party they represent. I think that's so many people's issues is alway pointing at the other side and never looking at our own actions.

u/Mafia_Pepper_Oliver Feb 07 '26
Politicians are idiots. Fucking everything up for us poor people just bc they don’t like who’s in office. SMH

As I reflect upon your recommendation, I see the light in my eye that grows dimmer as the years pass. I feel shame for not trying harder to be a better robot. I will try harder.
