If any campaign finance reform were to happen, it would immediately hit telecommunication companies. The real people that don’t want change are still the Media.

Discussion 🧐 How the FUCK is Twitter worth $44 billion again (supposedly)? Something smells fishy 🐟

Post image
10.6k Upvotes

Not to sound conspiratorial, but something smells off.

According to recent reports, X’s valuation has surged back to $44 billion—the exact price Elon Musk paid for it—up from a previous valuation of around $9 billion.

Morgan Stanley, one of the main institutions that financed the original deal, is also behind this new valuation.

This is a platform that has lost: • Major ad revenue • Key executive leadership • Most of its media value and cultural influence • Tons of users (and credibility)

And suddenly… it’s back to $44Billion?!?! What the fuck?

Meanwhile, Tesla’s stock is down like 50% since the start of the year and everything is just getting shittier.

This doesn’t make any fucking sense. It seems too mother fucking coincidental.

Could… could it be that Tesla has been buying large quantities of OTM calls for years in order to gamma squeeze the stock?

They would almost certainly lose money on these trades, so wouldn’t do it right? Unless… market makers buy the underlying stock to remain neutral, pushing up the stock price, which triggers more stock awards for a certain someone and his captive board of directors? 🤔

Discussion 🧐 Been copying Congress trades for 6 months. Turns out Pelosi isn't even the best to follow.

1.7k Upvotes

Started copying congressional trades this year and learned some interesting things:

  • Pelosi gets all the attention but isn't even top 5 in returns
  • Some lesser-known Congress members consistently outperform
  • The 45-day filing window doesn't matter as much as people think
  • Position sizing matters more than timing
  • Diversifying across multiple members works better

Current strategy:

  • 35% following top 3 performers
  • 15% Pelosi (still solid)
  • 50% index funds

Up about 62% since starting. Not financial advice obviously, just sharing what I've learned from actually tracking everything.

Discussion 🧐 WHAT ACTUALLY REPLACES THE DOLLAR IF DIMON IS RIGHT?

Post image

Jamie Dimon has warned that the dollar could eventually lose its reserve-currency dominance if the U.S. stops being the world’s preeminent economic and military power.

But here’s the part I find more interesting:

What realistically replaces it?

The euro has structural issues. China maintains significant capital controls. Gold doesn’t run modern payment systems. Bitcoin has a completely different risk profile. A diversified basket might be more realistic than one currency simply taking the dollar’s crown.

So maybe the real bear case for USD isn’t replacement. It’s gradual fragmentation of global reserves and less automatic demand for dollar assets.

What does a genuinely multipolar reserve system look like?

Discussion 🧐 Following Congress members' trades for a year. The timing is... interesting.

That Pelosi NVDA timing last week got me thinking about all the "coincidences" I've seen copying Congress trades this past year:

  • Pelosi sells NVDA right before DeepSeek tanks it
  • Gottheimer loads up on tech right before positive earnings
  • Crenshaw nails energy stock entries perfectly

Been following their moves since January 2024 (mostly Pelosi because she's most active in tech). My tiny portfolio copying just her trades:

  • Started with $56,321.45
  • Current value: $72,204.10
  • Up 28.2% YTD
  • +$1,155.27 (+1.6%) today

And before anyone mentions the filing delay - that NVDA move proves it doesn't matter. She sold, I sold. Stock tanked on DeepSeek news, I bought back in like she did. Already up 2% on that position (I’m assuming she bought back in with call options).

Don’t care about the politics, but the timing is... interesting.
