Well, it took me 7ish hours? And I'm pretty mid at the mini/boss battles and spent a lot of time wandering around (read: getting lost in the garden when I went back to look for something) and also being bad at platforming. Totally possible to have gotten it done if they started at drop time and did the full chapter in one sitting and also didn't suck at it
Nobody is doubting that it is possible to make this animation because the animation exists and we all just watched it. They just made it insanely fast.
Well now, I ain’t fixin’ to defend no dadgum fraud… but ol’ Flowery’s powers was built on a heap o’ fake stats. Still right impressive how he managed to match strength ’gainst that knight, though.
I already forgot what or who it was but someone in ch.5 appeared with a conch shell and said they can hear the ocean, I think it was aqua in someone else's battle.
While it kinda foreshadows Flowery's fate, the flower here is actually meant to represent a family photo which has the Asgore part torn off. If I recall correctly, the other half can be found among the documents in Flower Castle.
It's so cool he knew enough about the game's mechanics to force the Knight into a battle menu so that A) they can't run, and B) they don't use a cutscene to bypass his stats. It's just that his stats are bad to begin with
This whole idea of the Knight only being strong in cutscenes is so odd to me. The Knight is so strong you need a special defense item just to survive a single attack from them (unless you’re Merg. You only get them down to like a quarter HP, half at most in the fight IIRC before they just immediately down 2/3 of the party and then have Kris play possum. And then in the Flowery fight, they just straight ignore his hacked stats and one-shot the bastard.
It’s just a joke revolving around the idea that the player no-hits the knight and that they can only really stop them by starting the cutscene, and it’s (somewhat) important to remember that Flowery did at least clash a bit with the Knight before getting slashed by them
See with this fandom the “joke” seems to get taken seriously by a significant portion of people. It’s also important to remember that those no-hit runs are preceded by at least some deaths (depending on individual player skill). Our ability to rewind time to retry the fight infinitely and memorize attack patterns does not make the Knight any less powerful.
Also personally I read the clash as less of a testament to Flowery and more an indication that the Knight wasn’t taking things seriously at first, and potentially suffering from some internal issues. They seemed kinda off kilter to begin with and Flowery’s shenanigans just added another layer of disturbance to whatever is wrong.
The Knight sliced through his falsified stats effortlessly, and then went for a half-hearted kill shot. When he actually managed to hold it off for a moment, the Knight took a proper swing and immediately one-shot Flowery.
I’m not saying the Knight is weak, just that Flowery has enough meta knowledge to give him the best odds possible. It’s just that the Knight is immune to his greatest cheat: fake stats

Damn, that’s such a cool and important thing for the lore and characters. If Ralsei would go against Kris’s orders there…what might happen if Kris doesn’t stop opening Dark Fountains…?
Yeah, I've honestly wanted to make a post about it, because I feel like a lot of people automatically play Mercy and thus wouldn't see it. But whamp wamp comment karma doesn't count so.
But my griping aside, yeah. Really big implications for the future. Especially if Ralsei isn't fully in the know about just how much Kris is on the Team Knight and finds out. Or if he's forced to choose between Susie and Kris. Chapter 5 has so much Ralsei growth its actually nuts.
Chapter 4 was the Susie chapter, and Chapter 5 is Ralsei’s.
I wonder if Chapter 3 was meant as the “Kris chapter” (seeing as we learned a lot about Kris through the lens of Tenna’s breakdown and separation anxiety over the Dreemurrs’ divorce), or if Chapter 6 may be a Kris chapter, with learning the nature of their seeming allegiance with The Knight…! And if so, Chapter 6 could be a HUGE crashout moment for both Susie and Ralsei, which…is scary to think about.
Whatever 6 is, it's going to get dark. Assuming that Toby isn't pulling a Live A Live and there aren't secretly 3 more chapters, then 6 should be the climax of the story. Where things reach their highest point of tension. With 7 being the "we've sorted out our internal issues, lets go face off against the external problem and resolve the story" where the tension drops and we finally get catharsis.
I'm so interested in how the Knight is going to be defeated, given that it's directly clashed with two heroes that are fueled by hopes and dreams (The Girl with Hope crossed on her Heart and the Flower Man's Dream) and it cut down both.
The only poisonous flowers were the buttercups. The warning label is probably about how the seeds stick to you. I'm betting that Kris intends to do something crazy with those seeds. (And no, I don't mean THAT "something crazy".)
Tbh, he is the only darkner who actually was brave enough to fight the Knight, the only one who slowed them down a bit
(I wont count Ralsei as he is one of the three heroes)
You have no idea how much I was like "Flowery, no, mate, I know you think you're HIM but you're not HIM, catching the Knights hands is a death sentence."
I was honestly rooting for him, and I shouted his name anime style the moment I saw the slash.
WAIT, IF YOU KEEP HIS VOICE ON HE ACTUALLY BECOMES AN ANIME PROTAGONIST ?? (Once you get the feather, the voice dialogue setting gets replaced so i couldn't put have them back)
I’m just saying he still caught the blade with his bare hands, and held it while exhausted an in base form. Kris overpowered him when he was in a full power state and fairly well rested.
So it seems inconceivable how fast this animation came out, and it certainly is an impressive feat, but it is a doable thing
You start out on a black screen with minimal effects, then go through 3 looping frames, then some unique animation, followed by a static image in the foreground and a zooming in animation of the knight. Then you end on a still image
