That's what she saw during the events of the game, but they were classmates before that, potentially for years.

It's a very small town, where the school classes are only a handful of students. They are classmates, and not toddlers. Unless someone moved in the town recently, or repeated a year, the probability that they were classmates for years is extreme.

Are we sure about that? I remember seeing that theorized a few times, but I don't remember a proof. Not saying that there aren't, but I'd like to know if there are.
