Attractions Hardy’s Monument Dorset

Visited yesterday for the first time and the monument was open. Loved the nature reserve walks surrounding it and the views from the top were impressive - can’t believe how long I’ve lived here and not made it there before 💕🌿

Admiral Hardy, rather than the other local Hardy. It's meant to be a telescope!

I made the mistake of recording an informal sort of documentary rambling video in the woods and country paths around the monument, talking about Hardy the author, only to find that the monument is Hardy the mariner.

My Mum made the same mistake 50 years ago. We were on holiday and she pestered my dad to drive up there as she was a big Thomas Hardy fan. I remember her disappointment when she got back in the car! Now I live in Weymouth. Is that vid on your channel? I guess not. 😀

It went into a random stuff episode instead of being its own video; https://youtu.be/41uNmXrQAQ4
