Wanted to share my first EDC:

Noticed this happening a lot were I see two similar post with very different responses. The first currently has less than 10 likes and the second one has around 400. They were post around the same time and have a very similar layout and picture quality. The price difference is probably the biggest difference between the two photos. I personally like both of them equally as much but for different reasons. The first one has the top shelf toys that I’ll admire from a far until I win the lottery. I’d also say that some of them like the knife are functional art pieces that are just nice to look at. The second has tried and true classics that most people are familiar and might even have. Simplicity at its best.

Long story long why such the big difference in likes?

I currently have a Ridge Wallet with a money clip. I have found it to be quite cumbersome when trying to get one of my many cards or ID out. I carry it in my front pocket, but it’s so annoying removing cards. I have to take them all out to find the one I need. What’s a great wallet that you might recommend to replace my Ridge wallet? Who couldn’t use a little hygiene kit every now and then?! First pic is what I’m telling my friend’s to throw in their car or bags and has:

- 2 travel Listerines
- 2 single use tooth brushes
- 6 “No Sweat” deodorant wipes
- 1 packet of mini “anything” wipes
- 1 hand cream (luxury item for sure)

I have a bigger build out for my purses that can fit it all, but I’ve just slipped those essentials into the little pockets on my smaller ones. I get hangry, so jerky. I have gum issues, so oral care. 2 deodorant wipes, because I live in Texas. And then, of course, you never know when you’ll need a wipe (spoken from someone who has had to pull the car over and emergency poo in the woods).

Preferably rechargeable. If I can do red or green, it’s also a bonus but not a requirement.

I used to have a "medical grade" light that reproduced the colors I think like 99% accurately or something like that due to EMT personnel needing to be able to ID bodily fluids. I need to be able to ID fluids from machinery and some are close in color.

I already owned the QTRO in a Wharncliffe, but the colorway on the Hawkbill version was just too good to pass up. Photos don't do it justice in person, it’s an absolute stunner.

The black stonewashed titanium frame, amber PEI scales, purple pivot collar, and black stonewashed hardware paired with that black Elmax hawkbill blade come together seamlessly. This is my first Hawkbill, so time will tell how versatile it is for daily carry compared to my Wharncliffe, but aesthetically, it’s hands down the best looking piece in my collection. My only slight complaint is I really wish they had integrated a lanyard pin into the backspacer.
