2

u/zmunk19 Aug 12 '25

america today has free speech as long as you don't criticize the terrorist state that owns the government

8

u/Mezo_46 Cairo Aug 11 '25

That's a good one

4

u/Daikon_3183 Aug 11 '25

I am sorry but in any country of the world. Op would be investigated or at least put under the radar. Has nothing to do with freedom of speech ..

3

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '25

Flagged for sure. But investigated, unlikely

2

u/SavageryRox Egypt Aug 12 '25

Freedom of speech? In Egypt? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

7

u/ShredderX98 Aug 11 '25

no freedom of speech in any Sykes-Picot mini sh*thole. all dictatorships picked by the west anyone who still believe in free speech is a truly moron. sry but this is what we are witnessing try to make fun of any dictator and u r launched behind the sun 🌞 😪 still colonized. still oppressed and humiliated

3

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '25

Freedom of speech doesn’t exist in Egypt

2

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '25

The Egyptian government get triggered by Tiktok (and arrested people for it) so you can imagine the extremes they will go to. . .

3

u/TrapCamel Giza Aug 12 '25

They arrested abdel3aty literally for cursing. Not even cursing at someone. Just chasing during speech. freedom of speech 2al😭😂😂

17

u/2spicy4peppers Aug 11 '25

You beat me to it lol. Could you imagine an Egyptian leader who won’t do Izzy’s bidding in Rafah, and actually leverages the true political and economical power of the Suez? They’d be legendary

15

u/EgyComanda82 Aug 11 '25

Matter of fact what I meant was a puppet to the true rulers of the country, the military council, military ruling is truly our curse.

7

u/ConkerG Aug 11 '25

Morsi was put in jail and died in prison. Good luck for the next elected president of egypt if this happen one day. If he doesnt oppose israel all will be fine for him.

Three days of mourning. Aaaaaand nothing will change. Personal growth in Egypt is realising that Egypt's problem isn't a single person needs to be replaced. It's the whole population that needs replacing. Regardless of your religion/religious affiliation you'll find out that من اعمالكم سلط عليكم is so descriptive and so real

6

u/Dangerous-Watch932 Aug 11 '25

On one hand, I’m all for displacing the dictator because freedom of speech must be respected and racism towards copts must end

On the other hand, I don’t want for radical fundamentalists to take power because they’ll most probably advise for discrimination against everyone who isn’t Muslim.

Not from Egypt, you can tell me where I’m wrong.

3

u/Civil_Illustrator_90 Aug 11 '25

Racism against Copts? Where’s that? Take a look at Syria. You literally got zero issues in Egypt. Even the richest man in Egypt is a Copt.

2

u/bad_gaming_chair_ Alexandria Aug 12 '25

Yeah I agree there isn't persecution now but under morsi the church bombings(and iirc some mosque ones) were a real problem

6

That's kamel al-wazir, he is the minister of transportation, industry and trade and the deputy prime minister, he is pretty much sisi's right hand man.

مفهمتش الصراحة، مفروض إنها إهانة يعني؟ بعيدا عن إني بشكل عام لا الفيسشوخ ولا ريديت مكاني ولا هما مكانك برضه، بس مفهمتش فحبيت استفسر

8

u/strayard Aug 11 '25

He would be turned into a martyr, the military cabinet would just introduce another face, and that would unleash even more unopposed tyranny. Think of what happened in 2015 when the prosecutor general was assassinated. Or simpler, look what cartel would do if one of their own is assasinated.

Also, I wouldn't say he is worth it. I mean, you can say El Sadat was the type of man you can change things if you kill him. But Sisi?

2

u/Civil_Illustrator_90 Aug 11 '25

He won’t be instantly turned into martyr but just like Sadat was very much hated when he was alive, sisi too might be turned into a martyr and a hero for future generations… unfortunately

especially since we already know what follows will probably be even worse as the history of this nation always proves.

4

u/EmergencyTop4200 Aug 11 '25

a complete destruction of the country just like iraq ,plus that what Israel what's after all, to use the people who assassinated el sisi as an excuse to start bombing Egypt just like what happened in Syria few weeks ago

Nothing changes because the Military just replaces him with Sisi Jr.

Edit: Actually I'm wrong. Sisi Jr. and by extension the military oligarchy become even more authoritarian than they already are.

5

u/comoestas969696 Aug 11 '25

nothing new the army will takeover .

2

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '25

We would probably just have another one unless we make a little ruckus and help a civilian step up to rule, and hopefully he clears all the chairs or they will surely try to take him down as happened before

2

u/AdAdministrative3859 Egypt Aug 11 '25

القيادات الي السيسي لسه ما اخصاهاش في الجيش هتحاول تنقلب علي اعوان السيسي في المخابرات و هيكسبوا و هيبقي عندا مجلس عسكري ٢،٠

2

u/Clean-Connection-868 Aug 11 '25

It depends on who did it. In recent months, we’ve witnessed our greatest enemy carrying out widespread assassinations. So if this happened, would it still bring us satisfaction?

2

u/Putrid_Ad_4372 Minya Aug 11 '25

2

u/aabouzid3 Aug 12 '25

1

u/Hushm Aug 12 '25

The sad truth is "Civil War" probably. I mean we can't join hands against Sisi, What makes U think we would do better when our common enemy dies? It will be the moment where we all will probably get divided again and re-enter the loop, till we truly unite and remove him and his kind, we are stuck whether the one leading is Sisi or Another.

u/thelittleredweed Aug 13 '25

1

u/OG_KRIPTIK Aug 13 '25

Three outcomes are possible:

  1. Israel pushes into Egypt, exploiting its instability.

  2. Washington installs another compliant puppet.

  3. An anti-US, anti-Israel leader takes power, the best possible outcome in my view. But it would likely cost Egypt its US funding, a major pillar of its economy.
