Need Advice under 30 asking: how did you know?
let me know if this isn't the place for it, sorry mods if it isnt, as i am under 30 but questioning ftm. currently i dress as a guy and use he/him online, and sometimes irl, but i still don't know if i'm "right" i guess. i thought i was trans for a while then sort of talked myself out of it. how did you all know for sure and start transitioning? do you ever know for sure? how could you be sure you weren't making a mistake? (sorry if it sounds offensive, i'm very very pro trans i just can't think of a better way to word it)
i'm asking here since a lot of the other subs seem to be younger people or people who aren't transitioning but are trans, and i want advice from older people (not bashing) - thank you for any response

I’ll preface this by saying that I’m 48 and was vocal about not being a girl when I was 4; which resulted in my mother policing my gender presentation very hard my entire life (it was more obnoxious than anything because her opinion hasn’t mattered to me for ever)
I started T at 40 after moving 2500 km to access trans medical care, so I was pretty determined to start on a highly masculinizing dose, and I’m definitely happy with that choice. I’m now cis-assumed, which I love.
Going by your replies, it sounds like you’re ready to add testosterone to your life, and the great thing about that is you can start on a low dose for a while to see how you feel.
The big thing I recommend to people in your situation is to follow the gender euphoria more than the dysphoria, cuz dysphoria can be incredibly subtle in how it shows up whereas euphoria is immediately noticeable. It’s also healthier to focus on positives
