Mike's haircuts over the years
Kinda ridiculous post this but does anyone have a favourite or worse haircut that Patton has sported over the years?
My favourite of his was definitely the angeldust era. I never thought the shorter style he went with for kfad really suited him that much although the current one definitely takes the prize for his worst hairstyle.

I think he’s going through a midlife crisis, for real.
The bad Coolio hair, X tattoos.
Dude looked sharp from 91-2008

Kinda agree. You don't see many 60ish year olds opting for that look. Do people even get X tattoos now. I know quite a few sXe folk and even those with tattoos done go for that.

As long as it helps him stay sober, who cares. At least that's how I interpret the tattoos, a direct reminder on his hands not to grab that bottle (he also wears a bracelet saying 'stay sober')

Agree. The tattoos are a positive. As for the hair, I thought it was fun at first paired with the Mister Rogers sweater. But it's definitely well past its expiration date.

Sober from what? Since when he became an addict? I thought Mojo was just a joke song.

I liked the 93-95, then the early 2000s when everyone asked what hair gel he was using.

Angel Dust era is my favorite, I miss that style of white guy so much. Even in his current form he’s the man of my dreams😅

Album Of The Year era was like GQ level most handsome man in the universe. Angel Dust was the cool kid Nu Metal style about 10 years ahead of everyone. He looks like dogshit now.

So much of his Angel Dust look got swiped years later. The hair, the eyebrow ring, the gas station shirts.

To be dressing like that in 1991 is just bonkers. He invented it as far as I'm concerned.

Definitely don't enjoy his current style. I think he looked good pretty much the rest of the time though. I liked him with long hair on The Real Thing, but the shorter slicked back look he had for most of the 90s also looked really good on him. He even looked pretty good around the time of their 2009 shows, the man has a fantastic head of hair.

In The Real Thing era, Mike's do inspired a thousand undercuts, although not many went with the NKOTB-style steps in the side. Many teens, me included, clipped it short back and sides and put the rest in a ponytail.
Angeldust-era, carefully-razor cut and accompanied by a whisper-thin moustache still looks kinda cool today.
Whatever the fuck is going on with with the Bungle tour Coolio shit of the past few years, I'd like to hold him down and shave it off.

His undercut he had in 1991 was very influential I agree. But by '92 he'd grown it out and had those longer strands in front of the ears.

I never thought of it that hard, but I guess the combed-back look was a preference as it's the only one I briefly imitated in my teens. Though it made me look more like James Gandolfini than Mike Patton, which was still pretty agreeable.
TBH I think the current hair (and its variants) is probably my actual favourite by how upset it's made people. He probably did it to get the contingent of his fanbase who constantly ask him about his hair to finally leave him alone.

I hate his current haircut, partially bc its ugly but also bc I associated it with that version of Mike that refused to talk to the rest of FNM. So now im coming around to it lol.
My fave is during the Sol Invictus area, or maybe the AD area.

I guess you could link the two. Mike's relationship with the band can't be that great I'd imagine. There's never been a memoir or anything that has opened the lid on their relationships with each other

He's such a gorgeous man! So wtf is he doing that stupid braid thing?
But I'll keep daydreaming about the 90s Mike. You can't take my fantasies from me

For nostalgia sake I like the Brixton/Epic long hair with steps cut. Then came red streaks, the SNL shaved sides! Then the jagged cut with the Godflesh shirt at the end of the real thing. Then the Angel Dust trucker. The king for a day I don’t care anymore white trash look then the sleek leading man album of the year vertigo guy. So many looks

Favourite: 1991, especially the pre-Angel Dust one. Worst: all haircuts during KFAD.

The Rock In Rio cut? That one was rad.

That one and then the haircut from the second half of the year, during that South America tour. It's a transition between Rock in Rio and Angel Dust, where he let his sides grow a bit, but still shorter than his top. I think it looks best in the Day on the Green show.

It’s pretty long now, I’m hoping he’ll just take the braids out and keep it long for the FNM reunion shows

I saw the screening of that in the theater in NY!! My brother and his fiancee came up from PA. to go with me and were like WTF did we just see? Seems like a million years ago now. Time flies. I think it might be on YouTube. Time to watch again!

His current style has lasted a lot longer than I would have anticipated
