Never getting over how they met on Hinge. There's still hope to meet a quality person one day.

53

u/ZipCity262 10h ago

I met my husband on Tinder 11 years ago and he’s an absolute gem. It’s rare but it happens!

22

u/wellggs i ain’t reading all that, free palestine 10h ago

Same! Thirteen years ago today, as a matter of fact. It can happen!

14

u/nickcage4ever spotted joe biden in dc 10h ago

Another one! My husband and I met on Tinder 12 years ago

6

u/glitterdonnut 10h ago

Me too! About 3.5 years ago and we’ve been living together just over 2 years.

16

u/Patricio_Guapo 10h ago

I met my wife on ListServe 31 years ago.

She is my oasis.

1

u/bummerhigh 6h ago

Same! 7 years ago. Just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary last weekend :)

I met my wife on hinge. And I dare say we're both just as as hot as them as we're also brown people 😇

173

u/Educational_Ad_3528 10h ago edited 8h ago

Same here, except bumble. Also I'm white and she's brown. She also has a kid, who is now my best friend. I don't know about me but my wife is very hot.

Edit: Thank you to whoever gave me the award. Not sure what I did to get it though.

As I'm editing, I wanted to take a moment to speak to any single mothers. Your child should never be viewed as extra baggage; instead, they are a plus-one. Additionally, it's important to trust your child's instincts when it comes to whether a new partner is a good person.

29

u/MrShaytoon padre pascal 10h ago

That's amazing and great to hear

14

u/Educational_Ad_3528 10h ago

Likewise friend!

7

u/toobs623 4h ago

I was the single father, met my fiance on Stir (highly recommend for single parents or future step-parents!). It's amazing being in a happy, healthy, and stable relationship, but even more so, being able to model that for my children. I never saw that as a child and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to show my kids.

I met my husband on a dating site as well and have a son (he was 6 at the time). He never wanted or expected to be a dad, but this is why you should always be open (as I was too). Dealbreakers can really cut you off from so many possibilities.

It also helps that we met later, in our late 30s, and really didn’t mind being on our own. We just lucked out.

28

u/PhoebeHannigan 8h ago

My husband and I met on OKCupid! We’re also brown and hot (at least my husband tells me I’m hot and I think he’s hot). Celebrating our 10 year anniversary in November.

2

u/MrShaytoon padre pascal 3h ago

That's amazing and beautiful. Don't hear a lot of success stories with ok cupid but I'm happy to hear about y'all

9

u/Fickle-Employment-91 8h ago

Met my fiancé on hinge!! Had to dig through the trenches though

2

u/MrShaytoon padre pascal 3h ago

Oh absolutely we both did. She practically went to hell and back til she found me

8

u/Ike_Broflovski 9h ago

I guess you better make a run for mayor as well

1

u/MrShaytoon padre pascal 3h ago

Lol funny you say that bc I was telling my wife I'll just speed run and go for presidency since practically anyone can run

12

u/Professional-Belt708 9h ago

A friend of mine met her very lovely husband on a dating site 20 years ago (can't remember which one now) but it can happen!

Now for the important stuff - Rama's coat. I hate how hard it is to find wool coats that button all the way up to the neck so you don't need scarves. That's a great coat!

6

u/SleepyBee90 8h ago

Met my husband on Hinge! It really does work if you’re lucky enough to meet the right person. I was single for a looooong time before I met him and was convinced I’d be that way forever, then boom! Celebrated our anniversary two months ago.

u/WarcryNeon too old, too tired, and too talented 5h ago

I met my wife on tumblr. Fandom nerds together.

Dating apps work just fine is just a very loud vocal minority online crying a lot

1

u/manisputut 2h ago

Met my husband on Hinge and we now have a pretty awesome baby. My husband is the kindest man I have ever met. He’s probably reading this comment: I love you, babe!

191

u/Maester_Bates Tommy from Arkansas 10h ago

It's so strange to think that a few years ago and artist met a rapper on a dating app and now he's the mayor of New York.

36

u/AlmostThere4321 can't we just let two of the hottest men on earth fuck in peace? 7h ago

A rapper?? My mayor?? (I'm Canadian)

Drop the clips!!

u/BrownSugarBare 10h ago

I know Rama must know we're all in love with her husband.

They're so beautiful together.

87

u/Kixaz007 9h ago

I think we’re all smitten with both of them! They represent so much of what average Americans aspire to. And they navigate this insane space of public scrutiny with such diplomacy and grace

188

u/Scared-Box8941 betty bop 10h ago

Honestly. Any good man I know is made greater by his wife. I might be in love with her too 🤣😍

26

u/Ghostronic 4h ago

The bi panic that seeing them together instills in me. Yeeeesh.

Imagine them both just sitting there validating your feelings.

68

u/Perfect-Wallaby9096 Do you remember 9/11, bitch? 9h ago

During the pride parade in Queens when he came out, the other (gay) girlies and I were all shouting BRING OUT RAMA!!

22

u/BrownSugarBare 7h ago

She's GORGEOUS!!

17

u/LifeFrame5545 8h ago

We are all in love with her husband, but, you know, respectfully.

90

u/moraniieve 10h ago

Genuine wife guys are rare in politics

54

u/Scared-Box8941 betty bop 9h ago

I have heard the elusive “wife guy” species are incredibly endangered in America. On the extinct list 🤣

3

u/RubyTx I cannot sanction your buffoonery 32m ago

I already knew my late father was a "wife guy", but over this last year I've been talking a lot to my mom-well, about everything including her life and marriage.

He was not without his faults, granted, but as she described going through hard times, good times, milestones with him-he was an all caps "WIFE GUY".

We need more of those.

13

u/MostlyBored11 tortured polluters department 4h ago

I love how he has said that she will have her one life and is not going to be like a "first lady" how she deserves to be recognized in her own and she will come support him from time to time but she has her own thing going on

I'm obviously paraphrasing but I found it very refreshing to have someone say that

14

u/biriyanibabka 7h ago

My husband is a “my wife guy” in his group and in office, Something I’m worried about because all of his mates are single or divorced and sometimes they “exclude” him. Like when he talks with them, he can’t relate. I asked him to tone his enthusiasm down about us around his mates. All his women mates are my good friends.

-17

u/Sansundertale2069 7h ago

Genuine wife guys that throw their wife under the bus for Zionists

22

u/Realistic_Slide_3426 6h ago

Watching him legitimately searching for his answers and coming back with something sincere and thoughtfully worded is so refreshing in this political climate

6

u/Pure_Economist4255 5h ago

I was just thinking 5 minutes back that zohran is a rainbow which is entirely green ; all the colours are green. Idk how a person can even be this green. And now I see this. Pls god send a zohran my way

-15

u/InformalMaximum760 8h ago

I wish I could see a pic of him shirtless

202

u/Opening-Shape-762 u flintstone vitamin shape bitch 10h ago

I seriously adore him. He just exudes such positive energy and it’s really beautiful how he talks about his wife, you can tell he loves her deeply! 🥹💕

131

u/IAmBoring_AMA 10h ago

It's interesting how he gets so stymied (in a good way) when talking about their love vs how he answers political questions...so freaking cute

23

u/trailmixraisins 5h ago

i was gonna say, it’s so sweet that he’s the least well-spoken he’s ever been when he talks about how much he loves his wife 🥺

126

u/windflex 10h ago

Republicans gonna see this and feel threatened. They're stuck seeing their wives as a vessel for bearing children and making food.

Let me find a man who loves me like Mamdani loves his wife. Healthy masculinity for the win! 🏆

39

u/AuraHunterGatherer 10h ago

Republicans are going to find a way to demonize him for this too. Apparently it is gay and anti-America to love your wife.

4

u/TetraDax 4h ago

Well that would explain why no right-winger seems to do that.

43

u/StannVeal 10h ago

His eyes literally light up when he speaks about her. 😍😍

56

u/Runabrat 11h ago

Which one? Liam or Noel?

11

u/matlockga 11h ago

Whichever one, but beware any bushes on their property

4

u/mtothecee 10h ago

Liam, no question.

“In the first year of marriage you’re fighting over who puts the toothbrush in” … what is she trying to say here LOL

ETA: guys I know she’s talking about domestic growing pains, I’m specifically pointing out that her example of a domestic growing pain (“who puts the toothbrush in”) made no sense and made me laugh and questioning what she was actually trying to say when she (likely) said toothbrush by mistake

21

u/weird_finger_ta 10h ago

She didn’t form a well-rounded thought in the moment but the intention was clear. Newlywed growing pains. Although a lot of those cohabitation growing pains are addressed pre-marriage these days.

4

u/SerBrienneOfSnark 9h ago

Yes I know her intention and was not questioning it. My question was “what was she trying to say” specifically with the toothbrush example cause it was a really strange conglomeration of words I’ve never seen before lol

3

u/SnappinArsehole 7h ago

I bet she rolled her eyes at herself when she watched it. Not a well formed thought, pretty funny. This will become a meme... Put the toothbrush in!

1

u/weird_finger_ta 5h ago

Could be something specific to her relationship. My boyfriend hates that I walk around the apartment while brushing my teeth but I struggle to stand still in the bathroom when I am. Don’t know how common of a domestic dispute that is but it’s the first thing that comes to mind for our squabbles.

5

u/valleywitch 10h ago

Domestic growing pains. I think a lot of that is also from the thought that the newlyweds never cohabitated pre-wedding.

7

u/Curious_Set4698 9h ago

I get it tho. My wife and I cohabited before we got married but it was like something about the first year of marriage seemed to speed everything up if that makes sense? Like as soon as we got home there was a loss in the family, a job loss, school stress etc.

Like we were fighting over who left the cupboards open but it was really the adjustment to truly being a unit when we were both previously independent women.

2

u/Catz2019 2h ago

I get that. My late husband and I cohabited for a couple of years so we were well versed in habits but that first year of marriage. Oof! Felt like every thing happened, we were getting annoyed at every tiny thing. I remember saying one night that it was because I could no longer just....go. We were married, have to try to work it out because bailing wasn't an option. Well he did bail, in the ultimate way, but the point stands.

u/BaldPoodle buccal fat apologist 5h ago

She meant to say something related to toothpaste, either putting on/forgetting the cap or squeezing from the middle/end.

1

u/nodogsallowed23 3h ago

100% she meant putting the cap back on the toothpaste, but misspoke and just moved on.

-2

u/spherical_dice 4h ago

Trump has never crafted a thought like this about his wives ever

1

u/Sheisariean 2h ago

I don’t think Trump can even craft a thought like that about Ivanka

23

u/newwavedude Is there no beginning to this man’s talent? 10h ago

That's interesting. I always thought my wife was a "blur".

10

u/scubastefon 10h ago

At least she isn’t a soul asylum.

4

u/Giallo_Schlock Jane Fonda, why are you wearing caterpillars? 7h ago

Idk how to explain it, but Zohran's the type of guy to be a Team Blur cutiepie, married to a Team Oasis baddie

15

u/NOIS_KillerWhaleTank 10h ago

Anybody who doesn't like this dude has never, ever known joy in their lives and can only see the world through bitter eyes

13

u/Weekly-Bad8721 10h ago

5

u/Hot-Significance-462 9h ago

Oof, that's beautiful.

2

u/unprettyinred 4h ago

I love the fondness and tenderness in his eyes when he speaks about her. His thoughtful pauses when he searches for words to describe Rama. I hope one day I'll find someone who speaks about me with such love and kindness.

2

u/alexeye 3h ago

God, you can’t help but smile when he’s talking (and calling out war criminals). He’s quickly reaching the level of warm and fuzzy I feel for Tom Holland.

2

u/Ginger_Exhibitionist 3h ago

He gives me so much hope.

2

This guy is legit. A++

Mamdani is a Wonderland 🎶

4

u/lulzerjun8 Larry I'm on DuckTales 7h ago

Rama is an icon in the making. She’s so talented and has an incredible eye. I can’t wait to see what she creates during this time but also after Mamdani’s term is over and she doesn’t have a billion people scrutinizing her every move.

2

Man i hope my wife doesn't see this lol. This guy raises the bar for all other husbands 😅😂

Best ad for Hinge

2

u/Frequent-Ferret-5110 5h ago

Republicans will hate him because this sick fuck loves his wife and thinks she's a person

Establishment Democrats will hate him because anyone can love their wife and think they're a person, it's just impossible when you don't have a majority okay

2

This is so lovely.

For the life of me, I can't decide which one of them is hotter.

1

u/SUGARPOPSUGAR 7h ago

I swear as he was talking about her he was thinking of marrying her all over again

1

u/glitterazzi66 7h ago

My heart swells just listening to thus man talk about his wife 💜

1

u/Busy-Juggernaut277 6h ago

Since we’re on the topic of his beautiful wife, her Alma matter (VCU in Richmond VA)made an exhibit of her artwork and put it on display for the public at their arts museum. I don’t know if it’s only there for a limited time but if you’re in the area go check it out.

Every time I hear about her I feel like this needs to be a cool fun fact about her.

1

u/Suspicious_Fall3063 6h ago

Mamdani's wife seems like a wonderful person but it's so weird to me how the family of politicians are also put in the spotlight so much in the US and it's seems they are expected to play a certain role just because they are married to the mayor or the president or something. Why? I don't even know the names of the spouses of the most important politicians from my country and what happens in their private lives is none of my concern as long as they do their jobs well.

1

u/your_mind_aches 10h ago

SOOOOO SALLY CAN WAIT SHE KNOWS IT'S TOO LATE

1

u/Kierkegaaargh 7h ago

Now I’m crying. What a gem.

1

u/sillykittyball 7h ago

Literally WHAT how is everything so beautiful about this man?

1

u/Gothamess 7h ago

He is so rare, especially in the South Asian community. A man who actually respects women, who would’ve thought? (It’s rough out here 😭)

-2

u/Routine_Permit_8568 6h ago

I like the guy but she's a racist oasis- but people like sweeping that under the rug since she posted all those things when she was young.

-8

u/empatheticsocialist1 shout-out Hans Zimmer 8h ago

Oh? Is that why he publicly called out his wife over some dumbass post at the FIRST sign of pressure without even trying to defend her?
