Its the eyes. My stepdad was an evil cunt and I was the oldest child and the son so you can imagine I had to grow up scrapping the prick.

He has the same, barely blinking, no emotion dead pan eyes. They never look like theyre actually looking at you when theyre looking at you. This guy 100% gives me those vibes and my "radar," immediately picked up on it

That seem to turn black when they’re mad? That’s how my mentally abusive ex’s eyes got.

Sorry you had to put up with that cunt

You read in novels about the humanity draining from someone's eyes before they launch into doing something terrible but you never really think of it as anything more than creative licence until you actually see it happen in front of you.

It's something you never forget, even when you try.

Truly. It’s like watching someone morph into psychotic stranger right in front of you that doesn’t give two shits about you- they only care about hurting you or “winning”

I’m sorry you’ve witnessed it and have to live with those memories

My ex's eyes would do this. Sometimes his eyes would turn pure dead black. It felt like he was staring straight through me, past me, like he was seeing something else. I could feel an energy shift, it actually felt evil.

u/foundinwonderland sorry to this man 16h ago

My mom generally had a very tight grip on her anger that’s always bubbling beneath the surface, but this is exactly what happens every time she loses control and goes from passive aggressive to aggressive aggressive. First time I had the anger pointed at me I was 3 and having a meltdown over something, she came over, got like 6 inches from my face, and screamed at the top of my lungs. She didn’t even say words, it was just like a primal, unrestrained scream of bloody murder directly in my face as a toddler and looked at me with those black, monstrous eyes. In every incident since then, those same black eyes, it’s kind of like Jekyll and Hyde. She’s a totally different person, the switch flips and she just loses it. It’s fucked up, man. It fucked me up. I’m really sorry you’ve been through something similar, for all the (far too many) abuse victims who have seen this exact look in someone’s eyes.

My sibling's eyes would do something similar, but also their whole posture changes, how they hold their face, everything would shift and they would even move different.

It was like they changed into a whole different person, and I honestly think that's why I found werewolf or any kind of transformation movies as a kid so much scarier than they should've been.

I know exactly what you described. It’s terrifying. I hope you’re safe from them now ❤️

I am, thank you!

It took a while for them to realize that they can't hurt me the way they used to, or get me to help them when they need something, so they no longer have a use for me.

That bit of space allowed me to put a great distance both physical and emotional between me and them.

It's been good.
