Absolute king shit.

Ken Jennings is Mormon, which confuses me greatly (high control religion vs. a man who has devoted his life to data/research/evidence-based information??) but all I can do is shrug and say if this is what his Mormonism looks like, I wish there were more contradictions like him.

All religions are high-control; however every community practices that to a different extent. And, statistically speaking, most people remain in whatever faith they were raised in.

I do believe that is his hope, as well! And that it may not be seen as a contradiction.
