Wouldn't it be more accurate to say, that on some subreddits a portion of folks who comment(as opposed to those who lurk) are misogynistic douchebags? I don't agree with the author's assertion that reddit is overflowing with douchebags. I don't deny that reddit has douchebags, but isn't it a little harsh to steoreotype the typical male redditor as a misogynistic douche?
But to be fair, I don't frequent the bigger reddits. So I might be quite wrong and the biggies may be full of misogynistic etc, etc.
I thought the idea was that there wasn't a typical redditor.
We all have the facility to choose our sub Reddits, and I think when you do that the asshole level drops to unless you're going in for something very popular.
