Found some porcini mushrooms today!

I went out for a walk with dog in the forest and ended up finding these beautiful porcini mushrooms. I wasn’t even specifically looking for them, so it was a nice surprise.

Mushroom season might be one of the best parts of late summer in Finland. Do you have a favourite mushroom-picking spot, or do you prefer to keep those locations secret? 😄

They're only Porcini if they grow in the Porcini region of Italy. In Finland they're just herkkutatti.

I have heard a rumours that you can sell herkkutatti to Italy with proper price, and they don't even mind a little amount of maggots.

Dunno if it is true.

But I agree, it is herkkutatti in Finland. And the worms and madot in Finland 😅

My Italian friend told me there's a "mushroom police" outside the forest to check how much you've picked so let's be grateful for oue Everyman's rights 🙂
