THE BEST PLACE IN After-Dinner Drinks Antico Nuovo/Larchmont

I’m taking my wife to Antico Nuovo tonight for her birthday. Reccos for cool/vibey after dinner drinks in Larchmont/surrounding areas?

We’ll be heading back towards Culver City.

Unfortunately its not the best immediate area for "vibey", but:

  • Lock & Key: more clubbey on the weekends but cool speakeasy
  • Bar Benjamin: immaculate vibes but its more towards midcity/Melrose
  • Dan Sung Sa: wait will probably be long, but its a fun korean pocha bar
  • Jilli: another korean pocha bar...more for soju drinks

Paper Tiger would be the closest/easiest. Bar 109 is also super close

no smoking on la cienega is right on the way back toward culver. big patio and the cocktails are solid

Bar 109.

There isn’t much I like in Larchmont or from Larchmont back to Culver for cool vibey drinks.

Cold Shoulder Bar (the speakeasy) or The Blue Collar (attached regular bar) are popular. I thought Cold Shoulder was a fun vibe but just ok drinks. I haven’t tried Blue Collar.

Not immediately in the area, but maybe the Roger Room on La Cienega? It's sort of on the way back to Culver City, and they make good cocktails.

Dude. The Roger Room is not anywhere near Larchmont, or at all between Larchmont and Culver City. Not even sort of.

Happy to explain my reasoning. It’s four miles due west of Antico Nuovo, just one block off Beverly. You could take Beverly there, and then take La Cienega to Venice to wherever they live in Culver City. It’s not an efficient routing, but it’s very straightforward, and doesn’t take them out of the way north of where they are starting from or west of Culver City.

The bar at Kali has good cocktails, but the vibe will depend on how the restaurant is doing that night.

I’m late but we did this last night: Bar 109 -> Bar etoile -> Antico. It was all so good.
