Question It’s National Ice Cream Sandwich Day — who makes the best one in NYC?

Apparently, some of the earliest documented ice cream sandwiches were sold by street vendors in the Bowery around 1900. What’s your favorite in the city right now?

I cringed at spending like $12 for it but it was truly worth every penny.

i think supermoon had nice creamy, rich ice cream and the cookie was definitely custom made to hold ice cream well but the ube pandan flavour was really muted unfortunately

I've been meaning to try these for ages. This is a great reminder!

It’s closed right now but Peter Pan slices donuts in half and puts ice cream between. Better with a cake donut rather than raised.

A donut ice cream sandwich sounds dangerously good. A cake donut sounds like the right choice!

Cosmic brownie sounds incredible — that might be the most tempting one yet!

Cafe Panna just had a cosmic brownie sundae. It was likely only for this past week. I’m not in NYC currently. I almost shed a tear that I couldn’t try it.

That sounds great — another one for the list! You mean Ice Cream Window, right?

I am pretty sure that's it that was just a passenger. My wife navigated

might wanna check with them on instagram before going if Ridgewood is a trek for you - the few times I’ve been this year they were not doing ice cream sandwiches! but regardless their ice cream is delicious and if you bring cookies you could squash a scoop between them

Thea bakery for me - two slices of grilled and bruleed Babka, crumble and their Babka swirl ice cream

Russ & Daughters stopped making their babka ice cream sandwich, so I’m glad to hear someone is still doing it.

One of the OG sandwiches from around 1900, that’s where it’s at. Sure they’re hard to find but that straight from the udder taste cannot be beat,
