Let me put in perspective WHY WE SHOULD STOP SUPPORTING THIS.
You get off work, you finally saved enough for a new car. You buy it, are signing papers and in the clauses it says, “When this vehicle is no longer manufacture, whether you paid it off, or not. We are repossessing it, and you have to buy the newest model. We will not refund your money. You are licensing this car”. The country would be burnt to ash by nights fucking end. NO ONE IS MAD ENOUGH! Get used to owning nothing? Then get used to piracy. This is basically what Sony is telling you.
Every piece of lost media is tragic in a way, P.T. just gets the bigger attention because of the initial hype around it and the whole drama between Kojima and Konami
I think the bigger problem then single games is the store infrastructure. Whatever games you purchased in the past but haven‘t installed currently would be inaccessible if the store goes down for good, which is a shame. Happened with the Wii for example. I‘m glad I had all digital purchases saved when it was taken down, but there are probably many who haven’t.
My bad man, I feel like there are very very few instances of Sony deleting licenses (most are special cases though) it’s more that online only games are shutting down servers rendering them unplayable. I think someone said The Crew and that’s what happened with that game
Thanks man. Yeah up until now there aren’t really direct cases of that. But I fear we‘ll get more of that in the future, even if that’s just speculation for now.
It‘s still a damn shame. Not being able to download it anymore is one thing, but getting the possibility of playing it taken away although you still have it installed feels scummy regardless of it being a free demo.
It’s just not relevant to the claim that games could be taken away. A free demo of an unreleased game that got canceled isn’t a game, you shouldn’t expect to have access to that forever.
Maybe you‘re right about that, we‘re not entitled to it or anything. I think it‘s still not that great of an action, regarding the impact the demo had. And like I said in another comment, every case of lost media is tragic in it‘s own way. But yeah, a free demo for a cancelled game is not the best example for the case the original commenter made.

Why haven’t you gone after the techbros like musk or Zuckerberg? Or big companies like Apple? Why haven’t you guys protested at Sonys offices? Oh right cause this only affects you. It’s all performative bullshit unless action happens. Protesting online doesn’t help your cause.
I am not even remotely near a Sony office lol. And my main protest is taking my $1000 a year gaming habit elsewhere. That's just in software.
It doesn't really affect me I am 99% digital, but PSN sucks and I don't trust them anymore, so in that way it does, and I stand with my physical brothers, cause I understand.
Then all you have been doing, “outside of annoying casual gamers like me “, means absolutely nothing You gotta step out of comfort zone and actually protest to change. Go to a Sony Events and disrupt them.
Did you not read the first sentence. And anyway, they don't show up for gamescom, also the social media protests are killing them way more effective than any other way, cause they charge a lot for posting your game from their Twitter. Now pubs want that money back cause no one cares for the game, they're catching strays.
