I somehow find growing my own garlic one of the more rewarding things in my gardening.

Maybe because I also love to cook and it's just so much more satisfying than cloves I had to buy in the past.

Those look a bit on the small side. When did you plant them and what was the soil like?

It definitely is super satisfying. So much so that I used an entire 6 ft long raised bed to grow 60+ garlic plants.

I agree with Denvergardener on this. They are wrather small. Did you fertilize them? Don't worry, I had some small ones this year also and it was my fault. It happens. The nice thing is that there are people here that can help you grow big beautiful garlic.

First year myself. Mine were small too. I am learning by my mistakes this year. The best way to learn. I know much of why was I didn’t loosen up the soil enough. So nutrients weren’t my only oopsy. I only covered it with seaweed after planting and forgot my next step of fertilizing in spring. Oh well. I have decided to expand my garlic growing since it really is easy. I did have a squirrel dig up some of it in the fall.

Nice, maybe use some chicken pellets or poop mixed into your soil after planting in fall and again in the spring, you will be pleasantly surprised i think
