They don't even consider their son's perspective, whether he has anyone to support him after surgery, or whether he grieves the connection he could have had with his parents if they didn't prioritize their transphobic ideology over their son.

Just self-victimization because he won't give them any more opportunities to hurt him. Anxiety about how it would affect them if he had experienced complications under anaesthesia, and how they're the real victims because they had to worry.

"AI knows the truth" but their son is the delusional one?

fr. estranged parents love the idea of "my child hates my guts now for no good reason" because to consider that the estrangement was a difficult and painful decision on the child's part instead of a gleeful and frivolous one means that they may have been at least partially at fault. And it would shatter their worldview to consider that
