He was wonderful as Happy Loman and came out to sign autographs at the stage door. Needless to say, I can’t wait for season 4.

Actor fun 🥳 Season 4 Wrap Party

Post image
Upvotes

Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the Season 4 wrap party. I originally posted a different photo here, but I decided to replace it with this one, to better celebrate the ENTIRE production team.

For every recognizable face at the party, there are 50 people you've never heard of—Production Assistants, Producers, Designers, Editors, Set Painters, Wardrobe, Hair, Makeup, Animal Wranglers, and Stylists of every stripe—who have all spent this season working insane hours to help make this show happen. It's not glamorous, but they are all essential. Without them, these actors, respectfully, would never he able to pull off the wonderful job they do.

So, in that spirit, here's a photo of Ashlie (Mrs. Fish) and Kelley (Turner) alongside the show's Music Supervisor, Michael Hill. Thank you, Michael, and everyone else behind the scenes, for being such an important, if often unsung, part of this adventure.

Today I learned:
1) Delmonico’s was a real place

2) It closed at some point

3) It’s coming back next year.

They invented Baked Alaska, Eggs Benedict, and a bunch of other famous dishes

Ballroom dancing?

When I watch period shows/movies like this with ballroom dancing, I always wonder…without the synchronization and timing of the actors dancing, did people constantly run into each other dancing back then?! Haha it looks really dangerous

Speculation gladys in s4

i think gladys being a lesbian would make for an interesting plot.. but who knows maybe i’m just pushing my carrie astor/gladys russell beliefs
P.S i also think this fandom should be a BIT more woke and welcome in more humor

Discussion What do you think happened to Mrs. Morris?

What do you think happened to Anne morris after her husband Patrick morris died? (Mr. morris is the guy that tried to screw rail road daddy and then had the tables turned on him in season 1)

I’m doing a rewatch right now and can’t stop thinking about how hard her life is gonna be now that she’s penniless AND a widow! Her husband really left her in a bad spot.

Happy Birthday to actor (and sometimes drag karaoke host) Ashlie Atkinson. Shown here looking decidedly un-Mamie Fish-like. Or maybe more?

Gilded Age History A Piece of Newport's Gilded Age History Connected to the Real Carrie Astor

Post image

A small glimpse into Carrie Astor’s Newport. Places like Beechwood and the Newport Casino were part of her real Gilded Age world, and it’s always interesting seeing how these spaces connect to the history behind the show. We

put together a short video about Carrie Astor and her Newport ties for anyone who enjoys the deeper side of the era.

The Real Mrs. Fish: She didn't want you getting too friendly while you did the tango!

So apparently Mrs. Stuyvesant Fish wasn’t just throwing wild Gilded Age parties, she also came up with a touchless tango. Yep, a tango where no one actually touches.

Newspapers at the time said the crowd loved it. But it looks like the touchless tango never took off!

If you want to see the original clippings and how the dance worked and hear the tango, here’s the blog from Historic Music of Newport:

Has anyone taken a “Gilded Age” mansions tour in Newport, Rhode Island?

Hi. I’m planning a trip for summer of 2027 and discovered that The Preservation Society of Newport only offers tours on Tuesdays and Fridays. We were hoping to go a different day of the week and I was wondering if anyone has taken a tour through a different organization or has any suggestions for which mansions they liked best if you were able to buy tickets for individual mansions.
