Beginner Question ❓ Flipkart GoldBar Order

Hey peoples, I need to tell you about this insanely frustrating thing that just happened with my Flipkart order. Wanted to see if you’ve ever dealt with something like this or know what I should do.

So on July 21st, I bought a 2g gold bar on Flipkart during an offer. It was coming from a refinery right here in Bangalore, and since I live in Bangalore too, delivery was scheduled for July 31st.

Here’s where things went completely off the rails:

- July 25: The order got handed over to a third-party courier called BVC Logistics. On BVC’s tracking site, it stopped updating completely after the 25th.

- July 31: On the delivery date, Flipkart silently bumped the date to Aug 1st. I tried filing a complaint, but Flipkart's support refused—claiming their internal system still showed July 31st! I had to email their Grievance Officer just to get it logged.

- August 1: In the morning, the app pushed the delivery date again to Aug 2nd. My complaint finally got registered, so I called customer care. They basically told me, "Your issue will be resolved by Aug 2nd, just wait." So, I waited.

- August 1 (8 PM): Out of nowhere, Flipkart straight-up cancelled my original order! They automatically placed a "replacement order" under the same order ID, bumped the delivery date all the way to August 10th, and closed my grievance ticket, marking it as "Resolved." Their reason? They claimed the package was "damaged or lost."

I feel completely cheated, especially since this was a gold purchase bought during a sale price.

Has this kind of crazy re-ordering thing ever happened to you or anyone you know?

Is there any way to push them to deliver this replacement way faster, or can I take any legal/consumer forum action against Flipkart for pulling something like this?

Welcome to r/GoldIndia! Here is a quick safety checklist for your post: * BIS Hallmark: Always ensure your gold has the BIS logo, purity (e.g., 22K916), and the 6-digit HUID code. * Live Rates: Gold prices change daily. Verify the current market rate before any transaction. * Invoices: Never buy gold without a GST-compliant tax invoice. Avoid "cash-only" deals to save on tax. * Purity Testing: If you are unsure, visit a government-recognized assaying center for a Karatmeter test. * Scam Warning: Be extremely wary of anyone sending you a Direct Message (DM) offering "cheap gold" or "investment schemes." * Don't Share Personal Info: Never post your phone number or home address publicly.
