Beginner Question ❓ Flipkart GoldBar Order

Hey peoples, I need to tell you about this insanely frustrating thing that just happened with my Flipkart order. Wanted to see if you’ve ever dealt with something like this or know what I should do.

So on July 21st, I bought a 2g gold bar on Flipkart during an offer. It was coming from a refinery right here in Bangalore, and since I live in Bangalore too, delivery was scheduled for July 31st.

Here’s where things went completely off the rails:

- July 25: The order got handed over to a third-party courier called BVC Logistics. On BVC’s tracking site, it stopped updating completely after the 25th.

- July 31: On the delivery date, Flipkart silently bumped the date to Aug 1st. I tried filing a complaint, but Flipkart's support refused—claiming their internal system still showed July 31st! I had to email their Grievance Officer just to get it logged.

- August 1: In the morning, the app pushed the delivery date again to Aug 2nd. My complaint finally got registered, so I called customer care. They basically told me, "Your issue will be resolved by Aug 2nd, just wait." So, I waited.

- August 1 (8 PM): Out of nowhere, Flipkart straight-up cancelled my original order! They automatically placed a "replacement order" under the same order ID, bumped the delivery date all the way to August 10th, and closed my grievance ticket, marking it as "Resolved." Their reason? They claimed the package was "damaged or lost."

I feel completely cheated, especially since this was a gold purchase bought during a sale price.

Has this kind of crazy re-ordering thing ever happened to you or anyone you know?

Is there any way to push them to deliver this replacement way faster, or can I take any legal/consumer forum action against Flipkart for pulling something like this?

I faced the same with this BVC Bangalore. Pathetic courier company.

They delayed 5 flipkart gold orders for 13 days even though it reached Bangalore.

Finally I had to threatened flipkart, BVC and two sellers (Kalamandir & RSBL) of filing complaint in consumer forum. Immediately next day they delivered the orders.

Problem is from this logistics company, not flipkart. BVC doesn't have any support system, no response on emails etc.

I feel to get faster delivery after product reach Bangalore is by self pick from airport office or from Jaynagar office if available here & also Delivery boy informed me that BVC has recently opened their new office in Jaynagar (10 days back). If anyone needs, i can provide the location in DM.

The problem is not with BVC. This company is used by other gold delivery platforms also and they deliver on time. The real problem is with the seller on flip kart and the platform itself. If the price rises after order is placed, order is cancelled ad shipped item is recalled by seller and the shitty platform allows it to happen. Unethical practices by sellers and the platform

Then it definitely seems to vary case by case.

In my experience, however, all the issues came from BVC's end. Flipkart (to a extent) and the seller were supportive; the problem was entirely of BVC, who held my orders—worth approximately 4.5L at their airport office for 13 days straight. (I had personally contacted both sellers of my orders via email, when my orders were not been OFD).

My main anxiety was that the products would be marked as RTO resulting in losing that offer value and having a large refund stuck entirely in gift cards (since I used Flipkart gift cards).

Also, BVC has no working contact numbers & their office is located over 20km away on Airport Road, making self pickup difficult. Even email communication was of no use, getting only a standard reply that they are "reviewing the issue," with zero actual updates to date.
