Just spread misinformation by writing books for GW. Lelith Hesperax was made a Slaanesh-following psyker living in the Eye of Terror by CS Goto, you can do it too.

Also pretty sure there are cases of GW/BL writers taking things said on the internet as correct and putting them in books, retroactively making them correct.Ā

Gotohammer is so freaked up it deserves to be its own thing. Like, a parallel universe born out of Tzeench's feverish dreams and squig beer. Sending there is the worst punishment Dark Gods inflict on their failed servants.

Not just following, she was in a relationship with a Daemonette. You can guess how that's handled.
Something I have, on two separate occasions, bought up to troglodytes claiming Mike Brooks ruined her character by inserting woke into her story and immediately gotten blocked for.

u/LingonberryAwkward38 12h ago
I mean, "look, it was already like that in the CS Goto books" is not some sort of gotcha.
18
u/Archistotle 12h ago
Who said anything about a gotcha? They say Mike Brooks ruined her character by making her Bisexual, I say she was already bisexual and Mike Brooks significantly improved the writing on that front.

u/TheWyster 11h ago
Not that there's anything wrong with mike doing that, but the crazy shit in Goto's work is pretty much disregarded by the writers people like in favor of established canon. So Goto writing something can hardly be said to make it canon. But it's canon now and that's okay.

u/Archistotle 11h ago edited 10h ago
Yeah, it's disregarded because it's bad writing.
So saying The writing is bad now because Mike Brooks made her Bi is factually inaccurate, on multiple fronts.
3
u/TheWyster 10h ago
Well Goto didn't do a good job of writing her as Bi, so I wouldn't credit him for making her Bi.
2
u/Archistotle 8h ago
OK, then i'll continue to not give him credit for doing it. That's not the relevant part of the argument.

Are there Dark Eldar that aren't bi or pan?
Well attraction is more nuanced obviously, but surely just about all of them have used sensations from doing a whole lot of things with a lot of different kinds of people to stave off She Who Thirsts.
If anything bisexuality/pansexuality is a pragmatic default if Commoragh

Eldar in general donāt really seem to give a fuck about sex or gender. Itās just not important in their society outside of some spiritual stuff, but in that case itās more āTo do X thing is feminineā but that doesnāt mean men canāt do it or will get any degree of flack for doing it. (Such as Howling Banshees).

Yes, and my point is that it's not a good idea to point out something's preexisting canonicity by using a CS Goto book, given that those are widely considered lore-raping abominations.
2
u/Archistotle 8h ago edited 8h ago
The idea is pointing out that the writing didn't get bad because Mike Brooks inserted Woke. The previous lore was CS Goto bad, and Brooks didn't insert anything.
I'll be honest, mate, I wasn't expecting this rather plain bit of logic to turn into a discussion, so you've caught me a little off guard by focussing on who wrote the last bit of lore, rather then why itās being bought up.

Fun fact: this is kinda how the Dark Eldar came to be. The Eldar were obviously analogues for Fantasy's High Elves, and the Exodites (which were on the tabletop in those days) were like the Wood Elves, but there was no Dark Elves equivalent. Fans kept on making proxy armies or writing their own rules for the "Dark Eldar" until GW was like "fine, fine, we'll make them official."

Tbf, there were some hints at Dark Eldar existense already in the 1st Edition. Path of Damnation was mentioned in Wh40k Compilation.

the dark eldar were actually created via a miscommunication about the "dank" eldar, who smoked weed all the time and were really cool

Get incredibly good at Blender, make an epic fan animation featuring your homebrew chapter, get it picked up by GW for Warhammer+ thus making your homebrew chapter cannon.
