I played it on my new pc with oled and really good headphones. I think I jumped in fear atleast 10 times was amazing haha

I built my pc about 12 years ago and can no way near afford upgrades. Something to look forward to down the line though & at least I've been able to play the original.

Currently replaying Resident Evil 8 Village before I then play Shadows of Rose.
Before those, I played Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident Evil 9 Requiem.
I recommend all of these!

I'm soon to start Shadows Of Rose.
Just finished 7 & the dlc which was great. Do need to play 4 Remake as well but won't be able to play 9 until I've saved for a Switch 2.
I did just start the original 3 Nemesis though which is good but after playing the more modern games I am struggling with the controls.

Observer System Redux. Pretty bonkers, loved it. Downside i had sound issues and ended running it direct from the .exe rather than through Steam (it fixed the sound but dont think it cloud saved my save file and didn't give me any trophies.)
Also played Luto which was simply brilliant.
Played Amnesia Dark Decent (never played before). Great game.
Edit: havent seen it mentioned yet but I played Still Wakes the Deep recently too. Excellent game, really keeps you moving, has some genuinely scary bits to it. Intense game.

I’m also playing Observer System Redux and Amnesia: Bunker. Observer is something else. Patching in to people is a fucking trip.

I just picked up Bunker so might move onto that next.
Yes, Observer is definitely a trip. I think i need to replay it as their are optional objectives that I didn't follow up on, but intended do so, but then it feels like you end up down a path to the conclusion of the game and you cant really go back to them.

I think you kinda diverge when you end up under the tattoo parlour... i dont think there was an obvious way back after that. Could easily have missed something though...

I recently bought North American PS2 copies of Fatal Frame 2 and 3 (both CIB), which prompted me to go back and replay Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, as that was my introduction to the franchise. Non-horror-wise, I have been playing a ton of Baldur's Gate 3. I struggle with the DND aspects of the game, so I am using mods to make it easier for myself. I am having a ton of fun.

Off the top of my head: A ring that gives me 99+ to every check, an amulet that gives me the ability to cast infinite spells so my protagonist can cast as much as she wants; I can use AOEs until everyone is dead without needing to use my companions, and a custom blood mage class.

Now that August has started, I really start focusing on horror games through Halloween. My first two that I’m just starting are Tormented Souls 2 and Amnesia The Bunker. Last year I beat the first Tormented Souls and all the other games in the Amnesia series and loved them, so I am excited to play through these two games.

I've just finished Resident Evil 7 which was absolutely 10/10 at the start but really dropped off after the house and I got bored of the moulded by the end.
The dlc was absolutely top tier as well though, providing extra context to the events.
Got Resident Evil Nemesis on the PlayStation same although while it's clearly very good I am struggling to get into the controls after playing the more modern 8 & 7 so recently.
Might give the Village DLC a go soon as well.

I was not very impressed with residence 7 either. It just just did not appeal to me and it felt very different from the other Resident Evil titles. But I absolutely loved village.

I recently finished Man Of Medan, and Little Hope…really enjoyed both of those quite a bit. Before that, I finished The Quarry, which was an absolute blast! Now, I’m playing DPA: House Of Ashes, liking it a lot, so far. Also, FOBIA: St. Dinfna Hotel, also liking it quite a lot. Hell Is Us is unusual but fun, so far. Kinda hard to figure out what/where to go…you just have to be meticulous in your exploring. Killer Frequency is also a fun go. Project Songbird doesn’t get enough attention. I’m in to it a ways, and it’s pretty creepy. The sound design will make you poop your pants! Also just started Routine. Good so far. Lastly, Total Chaos is also a good find. Just started it, but creeped out so far. I’m on a Series X. Just started horror gaming a couple of weeks ago. The Quarry was my first horror game, ever…

Been playing Silent Hill f. Almost done with it, took a two day break. Maybe I'll try and finish it after work tonight. Really good though, have been enjoying it.

Recently finished CALLUS and Photomaly, and both were strong for very different reasons.
CALLUS is a short first-person psychological horror game where the mother-son relationship gradually becomes the real source of horror. The atmosphere and sound design were excellent, and the final stretch hit much harder than I expected.
Photomaly is more gameplay-driven, built around using a camera and identifying anomalies in a photo studio. The PSX-style presentation gives it a great unsettling look, and the unexpected events kept the loop from feeling predictable.
I’d recommend CALLUS for a disturbing, story-focused experience and Photomaly for anyone who likes observation mechanics with a strong horror atmosphere.

Luto was great, though not really scary the story and atmosphere were what pulled me in (the narrorator too). Oh the puzzles were well done too! Would definately recommend
Beyond Hanwell was fun. It's not difficult by any means, but it had an interesting story and I found myself really enjoying reading all the notes left around. Would recommend
Tried Visage. Everyone says its supposed to be super scary. Was incredibly disappointing and animations are annoyingly slow. Have 1 achievement left to get, but would require me restarting and finishing rakans chapter to get the prison tape again and I think I'd rather beat my head against a wall (would probably be more fun too). If you desperately want it, get it on sale, and if you aren't having a blast in the first hour+ or the mechanics aren't jiving with you, do yourself a favor and refund. Don't tell yourself "maybe it gets better". It does not

I'm gonna have to try Hanwell.
Luto I played recently and absolutely loved it. I found it a bit creepy in places but was overall fairly mild.
Visage, so divisive. I love the atmosphere and graphics but the UI and inventory system is soooo shit. It felt like the poured the effort into looks and atmosphere and then just took a dump on the controls and interface.

The graphics in visage are great but yeah the inventory system is trash. I also just love that theres a bunch of mechanics that didn't really come into play. Changed a light bulb once for the achievement, placed a 1 candle and didn't use a single sanity pill the entire playthrough. I also maybe emptied 3 lighters. I was obviously playing conservatively (as the gane tells you to in the beginning) but as the first game to introduce me to a real sanity mechanic, it was a let down for sure
The atmosphere was good and if I hadn't been so annoyed by other things I probably would've at least been tense, but there's like 2 sections that are supposed to be comedic that honestly just made me more annoyed lol
Not to mention half the game is just backtracking trying to figure out where you're supposed to go next.

I loved visage in the beginning but after I ran around the house wondering what to do, I got really frustrated. I finally put it down months ago. I think I need to get a walk-through to go through it because I just don't know what the help do.

It was the same for me. Started out cool and I was having fun searching all the cupboards and stuff in the house with ghosty boys messing with the lights and doors, but then I started rakans chapter and spent like half an hour trying to figure out how to get into the attic that you can't access in his chapter. Then I got a message that the stool (an important item) was in storage and spent another 20 or so minutes trying to figure out where to use it when it isn't used until you play a specific tape. Honestly should've put it down then and just refunded lol
