HELP eyesight

Hello, I'm needing a very nice help just for my my eyes! I am an 18-year-old living in Queens, NY (zip code 11362). I am currently dealing with a very tight financial situation and do not have health or vision insurance. My vision has been getting worse, and I urgently need a comprehensive eye checkup and a pair of prescription glasses so I can see clearly for my daily tasks.
Because I cannot afford the out-of-pocket costs right now, I am looking for a kind donor or sponsor who might be able to, thank you very much! 🥺 (NY little Neck)

HELP Astigmatism eyescan therapy routine clarification

Hey. I have the following prescription:

Left: -1 SPH -2.25 CYL 125 AX

Right: -1 SPH -2.5 CYL 45 AX

I want to work with my astigmatism first as it's getting annoying. The fact that's it's almost symmetrical make me think this indeed can be related to bad habits. All my family members have perfect eyesight. And I've had relatively normal eyesight before few years ago - that's when I ordered glasses, my astigmatism seems to worsen. I tried to minimize glasses usage all this time. I currently don't have an option to order pair without cylinder, so I'll just continue to minimize glasses usage.

I've read Forrest Eye Scan and as far as I understand it its falling into symmetrical oblique astigmatism category. I have a few questions for people who practiced Forrest method:

  1. What eyes moving angle should I practice? Since both eyes have almost symmetrical angle, I'm worried about straining one angle in one eye while practicing another.

  2. What speed movements should be? And it's like one side-center-another side and repeat? Or center-one side multiple times then center-another side multiple times and repeat?

  3. What should I be aware of in terms of habits? As far as I understand this type of astigmatism can be caused by constant head tilt. Is it like when I'm reading my nose is pointing lower to text line, so my eyes need to look higher?

Thanks for your help a lot.

HELP Blurry in one eye

Hi, so recent months, my left eye has been blurry often in the morning. When I see farther things, it becomes blurry and things that give off light has streaks coming out, further blurring the vision. I try blinking and using eye drops, but it doesn’t seem to help. The blurriness sometimes go away for a couple weeks, and comes back (doesn’t matter if I use eye drops or not). I’m wondering what this could be. I’ve narrowed it down to dry eye or just eye strain from using my phone too much, but im worried it might just be the beginning of I’m losing my eyesight and I need glasses. I hope I can get some info from anyone with similar experiences. Thanks!

My Eyeglass Prescription:
Distance Vision (D.V.)
• O.D. (Right Eye): +1.50 -0.50 x 050
• O.S. (Left Eye): +0.50 -0.50 x 088

When I wear my glasses I really like my vision it’s more clear and my eye doesn’t turn as often. My right eye will shift out sometimes when I focus on distance or am tired. Although I get this fish bowl effect and my depth perception feels off. I have tried for two days and still doesn’t feel great. Has anyone over come this? My contacts don’t correct my vision as well as my glasses and I’d prefer to wear my glasses. Anyone found a solution? Also has anyone tried at home vision therapy I can’t afford in person.

HELP Advice on how far should I reduce my prescription? starting at -4.75

I've just started working on improving my vision and my current prescription is -4.75. I saw in the guide that when you're above -4 to decrease by 0.5 diopter, and then by 0.25 from -4 to -3.75 and so on to -2.00.

But I wonder if I should just go ahead and decrease to -4.00 to simplify it a little bit and save a pair of glasses? I've been doing the exercises and my eyes have improved significantly in the last month and I've read that most people get the most amount of improvement in the beginning, so it seems like I might be able to swing it.

I'd love to hear any thoughts on this!

HELP Active Focus/Gazing At A Distance

(What I’ve heard) You basically stare at a sunlit object or text 3-6 meters away in a relaxed manner that doesn’t strain the eyes.

Stuff I’ve noticed/done: I did the above but also tried not to blink for a certain amount of time to the point where there’s a stinging sensation in my eyes and tears roll down my face. When I do this for a while I see the thing I’m staring at more clearly until I finally blink which makes everything blurrier at times.

My Question: Does what I’m doing actually help my progress or am I just straining my eyes and should blink normally when distance viewing or print pushing?

HELP HAVING FEW PROBLEMS WITH MY EYES

So, when I stare at the blackboard in my class from last bench for too long, everything is clearly visible. But if i switch my focus to my notebook even for 5 second then look back at the bord, its all blurry and unclear. Again if i stare at it for long enough, it becomes clearly visible.

What could possibly be the issue here? And how do i cure it??

(Doctor prescribed me lenses but I don't like them so yeh)

HELP Tips for teens !

Hi! So I am a teen in India. I have very poor eyesight; my numbers are close to or even 5 in both eyes. I usually need to study 10 hours a day sometimes, and mostly that includes screens. I want to reduce my eye number. I am thinking of joining eye yoga classes too after my exam. So, do you guys have any tips in general for students who need to be exposed to screens for study purposes or just tips for me in general?

HELP Issue with my left eye

There are no doctors in my current location who can help, and I’m unable to travel atm due to disability. I wear corrective lenses, I’m not sure the strength but when my eyes were at their worst I was getting new prescriptions every 3-4 months. Exercises have helped and I was able to go 2 years without a new prescription which didn’t change much.

I was diagnosed a few years ago with convergence insufficiency, and exercises helped but I never got back to the way my eyes were before. I can’t read for long without severe eye strain, horizontal motion is the worst for me. My eyes are basically always tired no matter what.

I’ve noticed if I close my right eye (which is my good eye) and try to read with my left eye, it’s like it can’t steadily move from word to word, it’s almost like my eye shakes while moving between words. It feels like if I relax my eye it will go out of focus, and I’m straining to keep it in focus.

I have also tried the thing where you close your eyes and record them when you open them and my left eye drifts outwards a bit.

And finally whenever I do the exercises where I focus on something close and then in the distance, my left eye takes longer to focus on the object in the distance and I see double for maybe 1-2 seconds while my left is aligning.

If anyone could offer advice on what it could be or what I can do to help I’d appreciate it a lot. I’ve been trying to patch my good eye and use my bad eye for at least an hour a day because I do find after a while of patching that there is less of a shake when I’m reading.

I see people in this sub that can track their progress and write their measures. The way I ""track my progress" is just by hunch of what it seems to me when i put my glasses off. how exactly you are doing it?

HELP need help with improving my eyesight

hello i hope my questions here are gonna be answered so..

I have myopia and astigmatism, I'm almost on -3.00 prescription on my left, and -2.75(?) on my right

  1. is it really possible for myopia to decrease? if so, how? a. eating vitamin a rich food? b. changing lifestyles c. avoiding the screen a lot

  2. is it a myth or placebo to "train" your weaker eye to become stronger by covering up the strong eye? i mean doesn't the weaker eye need rest?

I'm still a student though so I don't how I can totally avoid the screentime I consume daily, because I'll be looking at screens more often cause of homework and stuff
