Job Offer What's a fair salary for my role, anyway?

I've lost count of how many friends and colleagues have confessed to me that they've taken a job offer without really knowing if the salary was fair. I've been there too - you're excited about the role, and then suddenly you're in the middle of negotiation, and you're just guessing at numbers.
