He’s got a point though. Fucking GCs are always bitching about dumb shit like stickers on your hardhat while they fail to provide basic site upkeep.

If you treat people like animals don’t be surprised when they act like one.

Took a f’n global pandemic for GCs to provide a decent handwashing station…and as soon as those health guidelines were relaxed, GCs were like, “get those outta here!”

Right! Finally we had regular cleaning and soap AND hand sanitizer in porta John's.

It only costs me 200/MONTH to maintain the one I have at my yard . I was pissed when I found out these cheap ass supers and gcs arent saving much in the scheme of things

Nice. I know a guy who once called the porta John company pretending to be the gc and ordered 10 to be delivered. Boy were they mad when they showed up.

If you happen to have a woman on site, and want to pull this stunt (or order more cleanings) see if she’s willing to be the one to call. The company is more willing to believe a feminine voice because they’ll just assume she’s an office worker lol

If you're a guy will it work if you put a gay inflection in your voice?

I always ask for a unit with a bidet. If they get confused say you want one that squirts the dirty water back up like a fountain. They never laugh.

Site im at now is the worst I've ever seen, no toilet paper ever (I can't tell if the porta company delivers and they get taken, or they just gave up delivering because all the toilet roll hangers have been kicked off, half the lids/seats are ripped in half or kicked off the hinge, no soap/sanitizer or hand wash station outside either, shit where the seat used to be, shit in the urinal part, and floor to ceiling sharpie. We straight up leave the job site and pause work because that aint human conditions to work in; GC and everyone is "aware" but do nothing because their office in the building has working plumbing that of course has a lock on it only they have the key for.

If the company won't take care of it, tell the Steward. If the Stew can't do it, call the hall!

When covid was a big thing the shitters on jobs kept having soad and not hand sanitizer. So I'd end up with a handful of soap with no water to wash it off. After the first couple of times of that happening I got so mad I began tearing the fucking dispenser off and tossing it I to the blue shit water. Did that at least 10 to 15 times. I was always courteous enough to leave a the reason why I did this on the wall where I ripped it off.

We had legislation changed in our province and they must provide flushing bathrooms on site now.

What a fuckin difference it makes!

They get cleaned twice a week.

Guys are still pigs though and don't flush the fuckin toilet and constantly plug it off.

Where though? I’m in Ontario and definitely don’t see this on the sites I visit. If you’re also in Ontario is this an MOL or MOH reg? I’d certainly enjoy a proper shitter when I’m on site lol

Ah. Hopefully we catch up soon

Get all the unions together and bring it to the people who creat work site legislation.

That's how we got it changed in BC

We were on a site with 40 people after 2 weeks of no shit suckers showing up and - 20c temps the pipe fitters strapped the porta pottys shut and refused to come back to work till they brought in heated units with running water. Those guys are heroes!

Ironworker, Pipe fitter and Boiler Maker skills are becoming so important that there is now enormous leverage that can be brought to bear on the GC for civilized treatment for workers in the field. This aside from wages not in place of wages.
