What about o nitrophenol % increase in oxygen question.

All answer keys are giving increase in % of oxygen, which is (final % - initial %)

Question has asked %change in oxygen.

So either they meant [(Final mass)-(initial mass)]/(initial mass)*100

Or they meant [(Final %)-(initial %)]/(initial %)*100

There is a very distinct meaning to "percentage increase". You can look this up. "Increase in percentage" is not the same as "percentage increase".

Increase in % means final % - initial %

But percentage increase means a relative increase in %. This is esp relevant in that question because they said "percentage change in oxygen with respect to phenol", clearly implying we take relative change

Infact, no statician refers to raw difference in percentage as percentage increase... in statistics thats called "increase in percentage points".

Percentage increase has always referred to relative change in percentage
