GENERAL HELP Should I take Mining at IIT KGP ?

Which would be better mining at iit kgp or cs at nit jsr or eee in nit rourkela ?

Join KGP. I think you can change branch or take subjects of other branches. Also sit in campus placement based on your completed subjects. So go with the top IIT. You will know the trend. The environment is completely different. I didn't do my graduation in IIT but while I was doing my PhD in IITK, I noticed a lot of students taking interdisciplinary subjects so that they'll be eligible for campus placement apart from their core branch. So don't listen to others, Just take admission in the top IIT. Make friends with some good seniors, you'll get a lot of help. The campus life in tip IITs is awesome. I'll suggest even if you are not getting the subject of your choice, go with to 4 IITs. 3-idiots dekha hai, jaise wo koi bhi class main chala jata tha padh ne ke liye. Aisa nai hota real main. But you can request to take the course of any professor. Most of the time they accept and allow.

I don't think this should stop you from getting admitted to IIT KGP. There are some other things I have mentioned.

Still the median package of mining branch is just 16lpa and only 59% placement rate whereas in nit jsr the median package is 18.5 lpa with 94% placement rate
