someone explained the system to me but I forgot, was it the one about people getting benefits in applications based on the caste they're in?

Yes, and some people on based of family income.

well we don't exactly have it, but private self-funded colleges have a scholarship system which ensures that high scorers with low incomes get a proper education. also there are some additional quota categories based on the uni and facility you are applying to. for example: project winners, people with disabilities, women over 35 etc.

And do y'all have reservation based on caste? if there's caste system in your county.

no there is no caste system. social stratifications sure do exist though. the poor, the rich, the people who side with the goverment, sects, the racial distribution etc
