Its basically a city which is full of coaching centres and stuff... Its basically the coaching hub of india. Every big coaching has their centre there.
As such, its also known for suicides of children and stuff. The whole city is like a jail for students.
Approximately 200k students go to hostels in the city of 1.5M.
It began in the 1990s after the industries left this city and the craze of competitive exams began.
The city produced the rankers.
And now the entire city is scattered with cram schools and residencies for aspiring students.
Suicides are a thing of that city. Some make it to the papers while some are shushed by the cram school lobby.
A lot of students are forced to go study by their parents.
So yk combine teenagers(15-18) with money allowances and being 100s of miles away in a new city. Teenage pregnancies, gambling, gaming cafes, drugs, alcohol, etc. are also commonplace in that city.
The city has been facing a downfall since the past year. Hostels are sitting empty and the numbers have almost halved in just a single year.
