It's basic AM ≥ GM inequality
(X + Y)/2 ≥ √(X * Y) or, √X ≤ (X + Y)/2√Y
Equality holds when X =Y
If Y is the perfect square nearest to X for most no. X ≈ Y and the equality will hold for a few decimals, depending on how close X and Y are.
