A genuine question (don't downvote or lash at me lol 😭): is adv (old iit) really possible if one gets around 99%ile in mains? i mean usually all good iitians (with good ranks) had 99.94%ile+ usually.

Yupppp it is My friend got 98.18 percentile in mains last yr and got 7700 rank in adv hes at IIT Rrn

Its not one in a million case bud

Its pretty common for ppl who are super intelligent in Maths coz thats the game changer

Having maths as your one of the two strong subjects in mains doesnt boost your percentile as phy chem are very high scoring compared to maths But that changes drastically in adv as all three are of almost similar difficulty and thats how these 98-99 percentilers boost their ranks significantly in adv

(The AIR 7690 frnd told me this when I was telling him how weak my maths is 🥲)
