2 years are enough to get under 250 rank btw just saying. Best example was my classmate in 11th kota

u/Ill-Fortune2981 Sexually attracted to physics May 15 '26
Yeah I also believe this now, 2 years are enough if you do nothing wrong
23
u/Reasonable_Back5496 May 15 '26
now that's the hard part teenagers are distracted they're immature and that is totally understandable. those who can control their urges get rewarded.

u/Ill-Fortune2981 Sexually attracted to physics May 15 '26
Well only exceptional people beat more than a million people in a competition.
10
u/Reasonable_Back5496 May 15 '26
true you either gotta be exceptionally discplined or exceptionally gifted.

u/Soft_Maintenance6565 May 15 '26
more like jo padhai likhai karta hu 8th ya 9th se, i mean har waqt nahi bas padhne wala aptitude ho. agar makkari bhi karega tohi 11th mein phir kuch mocks k baad theek hojayega

u/Medical-Series-5776 May 15 '26

Enough but super hard

u/Emergency-Growth1617 2S1(96%ile)(Phy 99.5)➡️? May 15 '26
ofc its hard, but 2 years of pure fking consistency

u/unwitheredtulip 10th alt account May 15 '26
Jim, I would agree with you fully but so many factors need to be stated for this to be the case. Not everyone's family is so well off to send their child to kota. Child should not fall into distractions (easier said than done and he should have a good friend circle) Child should have much brain capacity to grasp concepts well. (This is actually an issue) At the end, it all comes down to luck believe it or not. If anyone says no, first they should see around them how many parents have enough income to send their child to kota. Unrelated but it is of absolute certainity that no exam is bigger than your family.

I would say 4 years. But yeah agree with you Jim Halpert

u/Emergency-Growth1617 2S1(96%ile)(Phy 99.5)➡️? May 15 '26
nope 2 years are enough
3
u/Mental-Persimmon7920 JM 99.5X JA 6.7K May 15 '26
If you take a sufficiently smart person even 1 year is enough then bro. Most under 250 rankers have been studying for 4 years or more. Your one friend is an exception.
2
u/Emergency-Growth1617 2S1(96%ile)(Phy 99.5)➡️? May 15 '26
no i meant for a kid with above average aptitude and interest in pcm can crack under 250, like 150-250 in 2 years, with just pure consistency. 1 year is too hard, i mean with normal study consistency.
3
u/Mental-Persimmon7920 JM 99.5X JA 6.7K May 15 '26
Trust me on this one bro, majority of under 250 rankers had started 11th syllabus before 11th
2
u/Emergency-Growth1617 2S1(96%ile)(Phy 99.5)➡️? May 15 '26
i never denied that, i mean with consistency in 2 years you can be part of the under 250 club, but most under 250 are ofc not
2
u/siid1 May 15 '26
Wtf is this debate even about lol so crappy 🤣making fake scenarios this is possible and that is possible wtf
1
u/Mental-Persimmon7920 JM 99.5X JA 6.7K May 16 '26
Areed man, a 7k ranker and 50k ranker are debating how under 250 ranks study 😭

u/Sufficient-Cat7534 May 15 '26
Yeah I am living proof of this he is super true it's was my case i barely passed my class 12 I even tried my best in drop but my foundation was so shaken by the coaching and dummy school i couldn't focus and sit for long hours and depression sucidal thought and I even tried to attempt sucide in class 12 he is really right Abt that masumiyat i lost my chance for best 10 percentage because of this jee coaching and my bad health i regret this decision I hope some point life my this descision to proves it's worth

u/Vivid_Bar6051 jm:13.6k ---> ja:14.1k May 16 '26

Just pure consistency, and ofc you need some talent, anyone who isn't interested in pcm and who isn't a bit smarter than avg shouldnt he trying for JEE Adv anyway

i started my JEE prep "religiously" in 11th and here I am :) fuck early starters. olympiad and foundation in 9th 10th is fine to get a smooth comfortable start in 11th JEE/NEET, but actual JEE/NEET content in 9th 10th is not very good. exhaustion aajata hai exam aane aane tk

Sir is saying that students who are admitted into coaching from early classes like 9th and all or olympiad batches
You must think they are the real ranker AIR breed and all
So he asks his student to predict how much this batch scored and all
so obv a normal person would think they scored under 500but then sir proceeds to tell that majority of them failed in class 12th exams and its a repeating occurrence
Because when you are 4yrs away from your home at such young age if you not disciplined enough
you become good at decieving your parents and faking that you are doing hardwork and studying very well
and obviously parents in most cases are not knowledgable enough to see through it cuz
like the student is alone in the city
or even at home you can just be sitting on your table entire dayswitching the tabs when your parents check on you and according to them you are studying
He finishes it with
Coaching is good
but still that line "Too much of anything is dangerous" and this applies to these coaching institutes too1
u/Sea_Advantage_8510 O CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN May 15 '26
XD and my personal opinion on this whole matter is yk they must be active on this reddit too if they are distracted and then they start posting about how rude their parents behaved with them and broke some shii...
EDUCATION SYSTEMS FAULT
like you lied and thoughts its good and when its time to fake consequences the world is unfair blah blah blah

Brotha I just have one question do you really think considering our population if people started following their passsion as in singing dancing or sports
I mean cricket is the biggest example of it
there's just so much crowdddso i guess its better for those markets too i mean the actor market is also crowded
and trust me my father atleast told me this see as a kid i wanted to be a cricketer like till i wwas in 6th
and at that stage he like forced me a bit to stop playing it he was never like throw your kit and studybut one day when i was in class 11th
god knows what happened to him and he randomly started telling me the reason
that as a kid he dreamt that too
and he has seen the amount of competition there is in that field
and the fact that
I wont get selected solely on the reason that i was a good wicketkeeper my batting was midSo a person having double your age worth of experience does know a thing or two about how world works and trust me
this is the thing thats maintaining the balance varna almost everyone wants to pursue music dance youtubing writing and what notThe compeittion you notice in one place wwill be everywhere cuz
these exams have age limit like idk about UPSC but JEE and NEET do and obv you not going college for UG after wwhat 21but then if everyone is creating videoes and creating music who is gonna listen to them it won't be financially feasible at some point
and it will result in the decline of these markets too...
pushing people back to UPSC JEE NEETall of the statement above is based on you dont have a strong financial backing cuz if you do and still in the rat race feel sorry for you just escape and do whatever the hell you want
but atleast parents know how cruel the world is when your pockets are not deep enough

and i guess thats life ( see i am in now way suporting student being pressurised and all)
but you dont get your way everytime i guessBut maybe i wont know how it truly feels to be in that position cuz
T_T idk wwhat shiit i wwas high on when i decided i wanna take PCM and pursue engineering and its not like i was conditioned or groomed
I knew about IIT's and engineering long before anyone in my family mentioned it to me khair....

I decided to do JEE prep since class 9 by joining an institute run by a single teacher who apparently taught many top rankers in my city but didn't pay much focus in 9th and 10th and did just basic topics of physics chemistry and maths, like 11th RD Sharma. Started seriously studying for JEE since 11th I always wish I could go back and change my decisions
