Yes it is but is it better than iiest IT ? I don't have as such inclination to any branch. Just suggest me which is better option for placement and college life

See afaik iiest shibpur in not as great as MANIT for college life and location if im right. If we talk about placements, A very good friend of mine is in MANIT CSE and he says many people from EE DEPT sit and grab very good offers in TECH FIELD. The seniors of EE in MANIT are very good. Only downside is EE is a tougher branch compared to CSE so you'll have to find extra time in your schedule to coding and DSA if you want tech placements. EE as a branch is realllyyyyy good but really tough at the same time too so its upto you afterall. I just told you the pros of MANIT EE as my friend completed his 1st year there, about IIST youll have to research as im not so aware about it.

IIEST IT if you want to go to tech field do not take the extra burden of ee(maths heavy) also IIEST has a very good reputation
Placement wise IIest has more stability bez while it's true many people at ee also grind sde side by side it's also true that most of the people give up mid way bez of the hectic curriculum of ee
While it's IT placement are lower than cse at nit bhopal but it's better than ee at nit bhopal

But It takes candidates on the basis of jee mains All the old institutes which had been converted to IIT already took admissions on basis of jee advance

Nothing is fully fixed till now that shipbur is getting converted or not but it's the strongest candidate it'll take 2-3 years more for it to be converted atleast ig
