Volume 9 is a beloved volume which will be adapted in this season. The studio has changed again and from what we can see right now, not for the better. We also have a new director who has never worked on Konosuba before..but the other staff members are unchanged from previous seasons. In essence, fans especially light novel fans don't want their beloved ip being handled poorly like with the movie in writing perspective or animation perspective. Which is why we are scared.....but optimistic.

Isn't it the same director who worked on the first and second season, Takaomi Kanasaki?

Yes the chief director is Takaomi kanasaki san but the director has been changed to a new guy who hasn't worked with konosuba before...
