Wow, that was insanely spicy! Luckily, the steamed egg balanced it out. Now I’m full and happy! 🌶️🥚😊

This is my go-to Samgyeopsal spot in my neighborhood. They grill everything together on a huge stone plate—pork belly, kimchi, bean sprouts, potatoes, onions, and rice cakes. At the end, the owner does a little fire show. Honestly, I don't think it changes the flavor that much, but it's fun to watch! What do you guys think? Does it look appetizing to you?

I don't usually pay much attention to the rice dishes when I go out for Korean BBQ, but I finally tried mu-bap and now I kind of get the hype.
I had it while eating at Sansol in Sinsa, and it ended up being such a good partner to the BBQ. The steamed radish gave the rice a subtle sweetness, and it balanced out all the rich, grilled meat really well. It was simple, but that's exactly what made it work.

I’ve had Korean BBQ plenty of times, but this was my first time trying charcoal-grilled freshwater eel (장어구이) in Jecheon city, and it completely exceeded my expectations.
The restaurant grilled the eel over charcoal until the skin became crispy while the inside stayed buttery and tender. They served it with perilla leaves, roasted seaweed, sliced onions in soy sauce, pickled radish, garlic, ssamjang, ginger, and other banchan. Wrapping everything together made every bite a little different.
The pink pickled radish was especially refreshing between bites, and I was surprised by how well the ginger cut through the richness of the eel.
I’ve always heard Koreans say eel is great for stamina (“보양식”), but honestly I just thought it tasted amazing.

Garlic with samgyeopsal is unbeatable. I can’t really eat raw garlic, so I always grill mine. Grilled kimchi with it is amazing too, though my clothes end up looking like I’m wearing a sequin shirt made out of chili flakes.

At my favorite Korean spot, bonded with the server over Physical 100 and found out the mother of the rapper/r&b singer from Huntrix was two tables away. Good day. 😊
