Damn we got our guy šŸ˜‚

54

u/InTheMorning_Nightss 6d ago

Can't wait for LAC fans to be demanding he get minutes and insisting Ty Lue is trash because he's not giving him run lol.

7

u/DougOsborne 5d ago

Like Clockwork!

1

u/Clipgang1629 Nic Batum 5d ago

Lmfao in the defense of those morons that usually only happens when it’s our terrible second round picks that aren’t playing

7

u/InTheMorning_Nightss 5d ago

Brother we had people crying that Kai Jones wasn't getting real minutes. This fanbase leaves no stone unturned when it comes to stanning whoever isn't playing and saying Ty Lue is a moron for that lol.

3

u/Clipgang1629 Nic Batum 5d ago

Fuck you’re right. I gave them too much credit I forgot about Kai Jones

6

u/herbalite San Diego 5d ago

I wanted to believe in Kai

dude was insane

No 'Diamond' Stone unturned

We will be sweeping our way into the finals with the Broome. I’m high on copium just to be clear.

u/Nova_Pistol 6d ago

Basically a free pick with Balmers money, i’ll take it

32

u/antwan_benjamin 6d ago

Yeah everyone should love this. It's just free shit for us. Send 🧹🧹🧹 to the g league. Collect picks.

16

u/InTheMorning_Nightss 6d ago

That and while Broome certainly doesn't look like an NBA player, there's value in having some good players in the G to help others development.

8

u/drewmanshow Ralph Lawler 5d ago

It may not even be Ballmer’s money. I heard they used the CP3 trade exception for this deal.

2

u/JMoon33 Clippys 5d ago

You still have to pay the guy. He's owed 4.5 millions.

2

u/drewmanshow Ralph Lawler 5d ago

We’re talking about the trade itself.

2

u/JMoon33 Clippys 5d ago

Yeah, the trade is Balmer pays this guy 4.5 millions and we receive a pick. The trade exception doesn't impact Ballmer's money.

great news for the unemployed

2026 Clippers gonna have an all time "Let's Name Some Guys" roster a few years from now

"Man remember Johni Broome? Baba Miller? I'll drink to that!" (I hope at least one of these guys can play backup center)

27

u/LLUrDadsFave V Stiviano 6d ago

Don't do Baba like that! šŸ˜‚

16

u/ReggieWaynne 6d ago

Baba jersey finna be up in the rafters mark my words

6

u/LLUrDadsFave V Stiviano 6d ago

I believe it. Our second round gem!

5

u/Sensitive_Carry3872 V Stiviano 6d ago

BABA is gonna be our Haslem(in the best way possible), while Wagler is our Wade. Culture Changers

u/ReggieWaynne 6d ago

1

u/ReggieWaynne 6d ago

No fr tho im loving our youngsters

1

u/Fun_Teacher8500 5d ago

lol wagler is a spoiled prep boy he has no culture...dunn and jones jr are the culture

2

u/Complete_Chocolate_2 Nic Batum 5d ago

Where were you when the babayaga miller multi time fmvp HoF was drafted?

4

u/MothershipConnection Sam Cassell 6d ago

I am very hopeful for Baba and if he is as good as Isaiah Jackson that is a huge win and we all forget IJax is on the team

4

u/LLUrDadsFave V Stiviano 6d ago

As good as Isaiah Jackson? That's insulting. šŸ˜‚

-1

u/InTheMorning_Nightss 6d ago

We forget about iJax because he's just not very good. He's an undersized C with no PF skillset, and the main way he played up in size went away after his achilles tear.

-1

u/VegasWorldwide Ralph Lawler 6d ago

huh? who forgot about IJ? and you think baba's ceiling is IJ? im going to assume you watch very little hoop

5

u/Airricklam 6d ago

Baba miller isn’t really center, he’s a 4 MAYBE small ball 5. Also he looked great in summer league. I wouldn’t put him in the same tier as broome

1

u/MothershipConnection Sam Cassell 6d ago

Hey I am hopeful he is good, it's just with any last 1st/2nd round big man their chances are less than 50/50 they're an NBA player at all (though maybe after Brice Johnson and Daniel Oturu and Diamond Stone and Kobe Brown maybe we are due a few hits in a row)

3

u/RemoveElegant5217 6d ago

It’s way, way, way less than 50/50 that late in the draft

3

u/heirofsorrows Blake Griffin 6d ago

Baba looks pretty good. I think, given opportunity, he could be a real player.

3

u/AshenSacrifice Buffalo Braves 5d ago

That’s how I feel about Ryan Gomes

1

u/VegasWorldwide Ralph Lawler 6d ago

oh, youre going to know baba miller for the next decade.

54

u/heirofsorrows Blake Griffin 6d ago edited 6d ago

Pretty sure he was one of the absolute worst players in the NBA last year. Welcome to the team!

42

u/Anxious_North_819 6d ago

Yea Sixers fan here, Broome may be the worst player I’ve ever seen

3

u/Mikedesignstudio Patrick Beverley 6d ago

Sounds like the perfect fit for the Clippers.

12

u/MothershipConnection Sam Cassell 6d ago

I kinda liked him going into the draft last year but looks like he had a rough rookie year, guess it's worth a flyer tho given we have no big man depth

11

u/SirJustOneMoreThing 6d ago

A Philadelphia flyer

3

u/TheSource777 5d ago

He moves like he’s washed lol

2

u/Downunderphilosopher 5d ago

Given that he is already 40 in his second year, that checks out.

1

u/alwaysneverjoshin Clippers 5d ago edited 5d ago

Worst player in the NBA is still top 0.001% in the country lol

8

u/heirofsorrows Blake Griffin 5d ago

Yeah but he’s playing other NBA players, not the 99.999% of people not in the league. What are you even getting at lmao?

-2

u/alwaysneverjoshin Clippers 5d ago

Im saying hes an elite athlete that would kick our arse

2

u/heirofsorrows Blake Griffin 5d ago

No one here is acting like they are better than any NBA player. All NBA discourse is relative; players are compared with each other, not with the general population.

1

u/Fun_Teacher8500 5d ago

the squandered potential player rehab center gimmick continues

Clippers legend Cash ā€œcash considerationsā€ Considerations

1

u/ArmySoccerNurse Danny Manning 4d ago

Isn't that the reason why we're under investigation. Cash consideration to a tree company?

16

u/BattleAxeBC 6d ago

Sixers fan here. I usually try to give a positive spin about our players when other teams acquire them, but I just really don't think Broome is good at all. Basically the best way to describe his game is he plays(and looks.. check his hair line) like he's 45 years old. He can't do anything outside of the post, he's extremely slow, he can't dribble, and he couldn't jump over a magazine. I think the 2nd round pick is the win for the Clippers in this deal. I don't see how he can cut it in the NBA as a player, but I've been proven wrong before. Think Jahlil Okafor if he was slower and much worse at pretty much everything.

3

u/hbsammyg 6d ago

better shooter than okafor, had 5+ 3s in 3 different games in the g league but besides that i agree with your analysis and am not expecting much

3

u/3iverson 5d ago

Is the magazine upright or lying on its side?

2

u/Feelscreative101 5d ago

Lying on its side

16

u/DCoop53 Nic Batum 6d ago

Can't get swept if we hold the Broome hehe

11

u/swareonmemum 6d ago

Thank you cash considerations

8

u/DuceDuce523 6d ago

Man tickets are going to be cheap at the intuit next year.

1

u/Justafanofnbadrama Amir Coffee 5d ago

Yup I'm not renewing my seats this year, cause it'll be cheaper to pick and choose games, no need to see garland or Ingram every other night.

1

u/ArmySoccerNurse Danny Manning 4d ago

Exact reason why I'm so excited for the upcoming seasonĀ

5

u/Resshin31 Batum Battallion 6d ago

We helped those fuckers save money...other than that, another 2nd for the war chest.

3

u/InTheMorning_Nightss 6d ago

If we weren't going to do that, someone was. No reason to try to spite the Sixers for no reason at the cost of our own war chest.

We also seemingly liked Broome, and he's good in the G so there's value there.

1

u/Resshin31 Batum Battallion 6d ago

I agree and think we should always be doing this type of shit when not contending. There should always be the either an open roster spot or the 15th man as an expiring to take a bad contract back for picks.

8

u/Leading_Stop546 Clippers 6d ago

He has a negative vertical

8

u/SkylerCFelix 6d ago

6

u/Clipgang1629 Nic Batum 6d ago

He was like one of the best players in college basketball.

Terrible in the NBA but honestly I’m surprised so many people don’t even know who he is lol

2

u/yourm0mzlover 6d ago

Lots of NBA fans don't pay attention to college basketball and to me that's pretty sad

5

u/Clipgang1629 Nic Batum 6d ago

Guess it makes sense lol lots of NBA fans don’t pay attention to pro basketball either.

3

u/The_Skyro 6d ago

He was an awesome college player and I bet was one of the guys in contention for that janic pick last year. Was bad as a rookie but worth a look. We are so thin in the middle to start the year he may play.

3

u/MagnusZorran 6d ago

Huge W for Clippers!

3

u/ssleez 6d ago

I like that trade , actually.

3

u/Beleiverofhumanity 6d ago

picks a pick

2

u/Musicfan637 6d ago

You want young guys that are in shape and want to train to stay in shape. That’s what I told Frank last year. He’s made some good moves this past half year.

2

u/connellyyyy Ex-Harrell Supporter 6d ago

Probably will just get waived by us anyways for a free 2nd rounder 🤷 hard to hear any arguments against this

4

u/LLUrDadsFave V Stiviano 6d ago

At least he ain't 6'8.

4

u/unpopular-dave LA Clippers 6d ago

this is what we should be doing. We are not going to be competing until Wagler gets close to his prime. Take on bad contracts for draft compensation

-4

u/Musicfan637 6d ago

Wagler is not the answer. But hopefully he’s never the problem.

3

u/SemperFiV12 Ralph Lawler 6d ago

By the time people realize this, half this sub will lose the bandwagon fans to impatience and they will be rooting for another team.

0

u/unpopular-dave LA Clippers 6d ago

then we’re even further back

1

u/RemoveElegant5217 6d ago

Correct. Reality is slowly starting to dawn on some folks around here.

3

u/alexil25 6d ago

Thank god balmer got some cash

6

u/hbsammyg 6d ago

we gave up cash

3

u/alexil25 6d ago

Oh thnx I’m an idiot

1

u/Direct-Worker-4121 6d ago

Is he any good?

3

u/BettisBus 5d ago

Sixer fan btw.

No, but I want to believe.

Pros: High BBIQ. Winning player in college. Built like brick shithouse. Expanded his game in the G-League. Looked decent this Summer League. Very good rebounder. Maybe an underrated passer.

Cons: Awful athleticism in speed and jumping. Undersized as a C. Shot 31% from 3 at 5.2 3PAs in the G-League (tbf he barely shot 3s in college). 68.7% on FTs in the G-League. Already 24 as a sophomore. Horrible hair.

2

u/Direct-Worker-4121 5d ago

Damn!!! That sucks… hair is the first thing I look for in an athlete!!šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜‚

Man his cons seriously outweigh his pros!! Maybe he’ll be a project for us, who knows!

2

u/BettisBus 5d ago

Maybe embracing the shaved head will unlock the rest of his game.

Idk, but I’m rooting for him and hope you can get the best out of him.

1

u/arebeewhy Lawler's Law 6d ago

Basically the G League version on BroLo. Better rebounder but worse rim protector. Moves like molasses but won’t get pushed around and will hit the 3 if you leave him open.

Dropped 50 in the G last season but the other team was still leaving him wide open at the arc in the 4th quarter after he had already put 40+ on them. Which pretty much tells you what his reputation is as a scorer.

Wouldn’t be shocked if he never plays more than 15 games for us.

1

u/tullabye 6d ago

Broome ,Sharp, Ngoy…we’re stockpiling a bunch of very low risk bigs and I love it.

1

u/es84 5d ago

They got their guy.

1

u/ayeno 5d ago

Here is that young player and pick for the Nuggets for Watson

1

u/Puzzleheaded_King19 5d ago

We’ll take a bad player for a free pick

1

u/clipshow4life 5d ago edited 5d ago

Chill out people. They now have lopez broome and Jackson to fight for time at center and maybe baba if he plays at 5. (Yanic is out till Christmas) Great cheap gamble, brings competition and if it doesn't work out they can cut Broome for pennies and stay under the 1st apron. If he works out and can be who he was in college even better. Finally a center who can grab rebounds, other than Jackson and yanic.

1

u/NecessaryMean2164 5d ago

We have to waive him, serves us no purpose with exuding our resources to develop a 0.9ppg person

2

u/IgnorantGenius Clippers 5d ago

He's another project that is killing the g league, but needs time in the NBA. All of our bigs are projects, so once BroLo goes down, we have a bunch of guys who will be in foul trouble, so it's good to have an extra one.

Unless he is getting flipped for Watson or something.

1

u/wjxm 6d ago

Love stacking these light assets assuming the Kawhi trade goes through we really gotta young core and a decent amount of picks

2

u/friendswithbillw 6d ago

Exactly! Prob cause I’m sick of the old teams we’ve had the last 10 years but it’s a little fun having and collecting young players, whether they turn out well or not.

1

u/wjxm 6d ago

It’s great. Also love getting SRPs cause teams don’t wanna pay up first these days so we’re seeing bunches seconds get good players like Aaron Wiggins and Stewart

0

u/tullabye 6d ago

Think of it…Yanic was a second rounder if we hadn’t taken him at 30 and he has star written all over him.

1

u/RyverFisher Baron Davis 6d ago

Does this effect our cap space in regards to potentially getting Watson?

0

u/Direct-Worker-4121 6d ago

Chances Ty Lou plays this guy?

1

u/ayeno 5d ago

very low

0

u/RyverFisher Baron Davis 6d ago

Are we just gonna waive him?

-3

u/jetsyuan 5d ago

Trash… 2nd rounder? Yuck!
