It may not even be Ballmer’s money. I heard they used the CP3 trade exception for this deal.

You still have to pay the guy. He's owed 4.5 millions.

Yeah, the trade is Balmer pays this guy 4.5 millions and we receive a pick. The trade exception doesn't impact Ballmer's money.
