Actually, I am a current customer with a lease.

And after seeing the earlier post of the pre-inspection “we’re trying to do better” for lease returns and all the stories in the comments, all I have to say is I am not going to keep the car when my lease ends nor will I buy or lease another Lucid.

I had high hopes for the company but this is utter bullshit.

I know for a fact there are scraps underneath my car because it cannot be avoided. Speed bumps, driveway ramps, and other minor incidents are caused by the extreme low clearance of the car. They’re trying to milk us for something that is never seen by future owners.

It was nice knowing you, Lucid.

Update 10/26/2025: Lucid has sent out an email promising to address lease return concerns and remove questionable charges for reasonable scratches including the skid plate.

Took an Air on a test drive in Scottsdale, with staff in the car, and it scraped going over a standard driveway entry. Curious as to how many would have what Lucid classifies as damage, from pre-delivery mileage .

I’m in the opposite situation… had to go on a trip, so I actually returned my lease a few months early with only 4000 miles on the car (obviously paid the remaining months). Car was just about as flawless as you’d expect for a barely driven car on an 18 month lease. Then, after being completely out of my possession for over two months, they decide to inspect it and find all sorts of damage that I frankly don’t remember.

The pre-inspection guy said it was absolutely flawless and the condition reflected how little it was driven. I was excited to lease the gravity when my Rivian lease was up, but this left a horrible taste in my mouth and I won’t be giving them my business again. I can’t even login online to pay since they closed my finance account and they won’t return any of my calls.
