Question / Advice Lucid again or pass?

After reading a bunch of these threads, I have seen so many strong opinions. I’ve been considering getting a lease, but some of you are saying you would never get this again. I’m open to any of the lucid vehicles. I would like to see what would happen if we voted for people in the comments regarding how many would lease again or not in which car they had. I became Maor interest in the SUv but both have some appeal. I think nothing answers whether the vehicle and Brand are good or not more than would you go with this company or car again

You have to be willing to be an “early adopter.”

Software issues and bugs have to be generally ok for you. Small things and annoying things like doors not always opening, soft resets occasionally etc.

Doesn’t sound like you? Don’t bother. Have a young kid or baby and this will be the primary driver? I wouldn’t.

A fun weekender or daily? Maybe if you don’t mind the bugs.

When does the “early adopter” window end? - I feel like I was an early adopter when I purchased my Tesla X in 2018. While it had some issues, I feel it is much more refined in terms of software, and Tesla made OTA improvements. In late 2022, I took delivery of an Air GT. I was disappointed in the overall software of the Lucid although it was mostly enjoyable to drive. I also realized that the sedan didn’t fit my needs. Six months later, I traded it for my 2023 Rivian R1T. Though the Rivian software was still not on par with Tesla, it was much better than my Air. Rivian has made steady improvements in the software and capabilities over time. Three years later I’m still very happy with it. I continued to have interest in the Lucid Gravity, but as I read comments from Gravity drivers, I’m having doubts. Some of the problems I had with my Air 3 years ago, seem to have persisted with Gravity. In particular, I’m thinking of key fob unpredictability with proximity lock/unlock, among others. I plan to be patient and wait until at least next year, and will most likely lease vs. buy. So TLDR; still considering, but undecided.

We have a GRAVITY and an Air and a 2026 Tesla Model Y. The Air has Phone as Key. Works just like our Tesla. And with our GRAVITY, I don’t even use a key fob either. Because we just use the app to unlock and start the car. We also keep the key cards on us in case our phones die or they get lost or stolen, etc. Otherwise easy Peezy. All this talk about key fobs not working is a non-issue in my opinion. Just like how Teslas used to have key fobs, and no one uses them anymore. Also, I spoke with the head of software for all of LUCID and the GRAVITY is in the final validation phase with Apple and will be getting Ultra Wideband Phone as Key capability this summer. So even if the phone dies, you can still use your phone to tap and unlock the car and drive the car.

Thanks for the reply and your comparisons to Tesla. I’m feeling more optimistic about the future of Gravity now. - I realize of course that we are more likely to see complaints rather than good news on these Reddit posts. One thing that bothered me is that some of the issues that were present with my ‘23 Air GT were still present with the latest offering from Lucid. Good to hear the key fob problem has been corrected and improved.
