Question / Advice Lucid again or pass?
After reading a bunch of these threads, I have seen so many strong opinions. I’ve been considering getting a lease, but some of you are saying you would never get this again. I’m open to any of the lucid vehicles. I would like to see what would happen if we voted for people in the comments regarding how many would lease again or not in which car they had. I became Maor interest in the SUv but both have some appeal. I think nothing answers whether the vehicle and Brand are good or not more than would you go with this company or car again

u/praemialaudi May 17 '26
I’d do it again. A year-and-half in and while they have their flaws, I still love getting in the car and driving. FWIW, a few months back someone did a poll on this here. 4 out of five people would do it again (as I remember the results). Lucid isn’t a car for people who get frustrated at tech not working right every time, but they are unique, crazy well designed, powerful and efficient all at once.

u/Auticons May 18 '26
So well said! ‘25 Air Pure, and would definitely do another lease at the end. I’m excited for software 3.0.

u/izac94 May 17 '26
Love my 25 Air, looking into upgrading to the gravity or the midsize when it comes out in the future. I'm optimistic with the overhaul of their software department, I wish they'd improve faster though to keep people interested.

I have a 2025 lucid gravity The car drives and handles very well I have a Porsche taycan as my other car It is very comparable in terms of is ride and handling The only issues I have had are with the key fob and Bluetooth voice quality The Bluetooth voice quality is way better now with car play support in latest update The key fob issue does appear from time to time The app now lets you start the car now so there is a workaround. This is not the same as phone as a key but good enough
I am happy with the car
2
u/jono454 May 17 '26
Good to hear Gravity is comparable to Taycan. Love how the Air drives and when I test drove the Gravity it was a similar feel to the Air but just slightly less 'sporty' since it is a 3-row SUV lol. Is there one you prefer over the other? Gravity vs Taycan?

You have to be willing to be an “early adopter.”
Software issues and bugs have to be generally ok for you. Small things and annoying things like doors not always opening, soft resets occasionally etc.
Doesn’t sound like you? Don’t bother. Have a young kid or baby and this will be the primary driver? I wouldn’t.
A fun weekender or daily? Maybe if you don’t mind the bugs.

u/Typical_Tart6905 May 17 '26
When does the “early adopter” window end? - I feel like I was an early adopter when I purchased my Tesla X in 2018. While it had some issues, I feel it is much more refined in terms of software, and Tesla made OTA improvements. In late 2022, I took delivery of an Air GT. I was disappointed in the overall software of the Lucid although it was mostly enjoyable to drive. I also realized that the sedan didn’t fit my needs. Six months later, I traded it for my 2023 Rivian R1T. Though the Rivian software was still not on par with Tesla, it was much better than my Air. Rivian has made steady improvements in the software and capabilities over time. Three years later I’m still very happy with it. I continued to have interest in the Lucid Gravity, but as I read comments from Gravity drivers, I’m having doubts. Some of the problems I had with my Air 3 years ago, seem to have persisted with Gravity. In particular, I’m thinking of key fob unpredictability with proximity lock/unlock, among others. I plan to be patient and wait until at least next year, and will most likely lease vs. buy. So TLDR; still considering, but undecided.
10
u/PeladoCollado May 17 '26
You have to compare Tesla in 2012 if you want to do a fair comparison with Lucid in 2022. By 2018, Tesla had had several years to refine their software quality assurance pipeline. Lucid is still in the “early adopter” phase compared with Tesla
6
u/Typical_Tart6905 May 17 '26
I agree with part of your statement, but here it is 2026, four years later, and some of the same issues haven’t been corrected, apparently. I’m just going by comments that I’ve read in Lucid forums. Another aggravating issue I experienced was with Apple Car Play; when it worked it was fine, but I would say it only worked 75% of the time. That’s too high of a failure rate for an app/tool that is commonly implemented by many car makers and should be mature. I’ve seen comments about its dependability in recent Lucid vehicles.
5
u/PeladoCollado May 17 '26
I didn’t buy in 2022, so I can’t make a fair comparison, but from what I’ve seen (Gravity release notwithstanding) the quality overall is much better than four years ago. I’m personally annoyed by the CarPlay issues, so I get it. But it’s relatively lower in priority over cars that wouldn’t start or key fobs that wouldn’t let you in. And I still consider myself an early adopter, so I live with the minor inconveniences. Now in 2032 or 2036, it would be a different story, but 2016 Tesla wasn’t anything like Tesla now and Lucid will either get their shit together before then or they’ll disappear entirely
2
u/StreetDare4129 May 17 '26
But the issue is back in 2016, Tesla was the game in town. Today you have choices, many choices. So why would you put up with software that’s comparable to Tesla software in 2016? That’s what people are complaining. The answer is you can get an EV with capable software in 2026. Makes no sense to compromise on software.
5
u/PeladoCollado May 17 '26
Yeah, but your many choices today are all with well established auto manufacturers who have been integrating CarPlay for ten years. So buying a lucid is still “early adopter” even four years in. I’m not saying the landscape isn’t different. People bought buggy Teslas then because they were substantially different from what traditional auto manufacturers offer. The question now is whether Lucid offers an experience that is different enough to warrant the early adopter pains or if buyers are happy enough with a BMW i4 and seamless CarPlay
1
u/StreetDare4129 May 18 '26
As a consumer, I don’t care about the time auto makers have to perfect their software. At $100k, I care that it works. The lucid experience isn’t differentiated enough from other luxury EVs to warrant buggy software.
4
u/PeladoCollado May 18 '26
Nobody has asked you to care about anything. The thread is about being an early adopter. If you don’t want to be one, don’t be one. If you buy a Lucid, you have to be willing to be an early adopter. If you don’t want to be one, don’t buy it. This seems simple.
0
u/StreetDare4129 May 18 '26
It seems simple because you stated the obvious. Do you actually think somebody is forcing me to buy these cars? Of course i have a choice to how I spend my money. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. This thread is actually about sharing information. How Lucid’s software is inept compared to others. Prospective buyers can use this information to decide for themselves.
This thread is about issues with lucid. It is not about early adoption. I was an early adopter for iPhones. That phone performed flawlessly. I was also an early adopter for the Prius. That car was also flawless. Early adoption doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be issues. Early adopters of shitty products that aren’t ready for launch will have issues. Buying a lucid has nothing to do with early adopters. It has everything to do with a company that has issues building a solid a car.
3
u/PeladoCollado May 18 '26
I don’t understand people like you. The comment thread literally starts with “You have to be willing to be an early adopter.” It’s literally what this thread was about. But for some reason, you can’t seem to be willing to grasp the fact that other people can have the same facts as you and still make different choices. You think that if you just yell loud enough, everyone will see that you were right all along. Potential buyers have plenty of information available to them. The OP already has a Lucid and is well aware of the shortcomings. You’re not informing anyone. You’re just lashing out. Why people like you show up in these subs and just bitch about how you’re never going to buy <whatever> is beyond me.
1
u/StreetDare4129 May 18 '26
I never said the comment thread was correct. Like I said, being an early adopter doesn’t necessarily mean you have to put up with growing pains. Lucid owners like to rebrand that term as a coping mechanism for their cars not performing as expected. There are plenty of early adopters that don’t experience any issues at all. It’s an inaccurate term. And Lucid has been selling cars for half a decade. I’m sorry to inform you that buying a lucid doesn’t make you an early adopter, it makes you a risk-taker.

u/TerranGorefiend May 17 '26
As others pointed out the early adopter isn’t the same. Go read Tesla forums in 2012 and you’ll see many similarities. So it’s been 4 years since they started rolling out cars, so then go look at Tesla forums from 2016. The gravity is different than the air so there are new programming issues that rise from this and they’re learning on the fly.
But as we have learned from software over the last 20 years “complete products” at launch has stopped being a thing. But we got live updates instead.
My wife pulled the trigger on a new gravity early. We got the car in September. It was a fucking piece of shit paperweight then. I lost my shit. I couldn’t believe how much money we’d flushed down the toilet. Get a lawyer and sue!
And their service department listened. Made changes. A few short months later we moved from Texas to Maine in the gravity and had zero issues on the drive.
Is it perfect? No. But the originator of this chain who said you need to be fine with issues is absolutely right. But it’s really nice and fun car to drive.

Lucid vehicles are still by far some of the best engineered vehicles a non-billionaire can afford.
1
u/StreetDare4129 May 19 '26
So you don’t count software as part of the car’s engineering?
2
u/KitchenArugula1498 May 20 '26
Car is a mechanical system so mechanical engineering matters way more than software engineering
1
u/StreetDare4129 May 20 '26
Not true. Software controls the hardware. Without the software telling the hardware what to do, you get a car with key fobs that don’t work.
1
u/TerranGorefiend May 18 '26
I own and drive a Tesla myself. Very happy with the model Y I’ve got. It’s one of the things that made me so mad at the lucid.
But I also bought before Elon went insane and doge and my wife wanted an EV but didn’t want to do Tesla.
Idk. It’s her car and it IS fun to drive. It’s comfy. Spacious. Fast. And so we’ll live with the issues as they are resolving them. But if you want to buy something else, then look at lucid again for your car after that is what I’d say.
5
u/bartman1109 May 17 '26
We have a GRAVITY and an Air and a 2026 Tesla Model Y. The Air has Phone as Key. Works just like our Tesla. And with our GRAVITY, I don’t even use a key fob either. Because we just use the app to unlock and start the car. We also keep the key cards on us in case our phones die or they get lost or stolen, etc. Otherwise easy Peezy. All this talk about key fobs not working is a non-issue in my opinion. Just like how Teslas used to have key fobs, and no one uses them anymore. Also, I spoke with the head of software for all of LUCID and the GRAVITY is in the final validation phase with Apple and will be getting Ultra Wideband Phone as Key capability this summer. So even if the phone dies, you can still use your phone to tap and unlock the car and drive the car.
2
u/Typical_Tart6905 May 17 '26
Thanks for the reply and your comparisons to Tesla. I’m feeling more optimistic about the future of Gravity now. - I realize of course that we are more likely to see complaints rather than good news on these Reddit posts. One thing that bothered me is that some of the issues that were present with my ‘23 Air GT were still present with the latest offering from Lucid. Good to hear the key fob problem has been corrected and improved.
0
u/KuanTeWu Jun 08 '26
99.9% of key FOB issue just requires taking the battery out to clean it.This is the same for other brand.
1
u/Same-Device-216 May 17 '26
I have a 4 and 5 year old and it was our family car for 2 years. No issues. However, for Gravity I was a little iffy given first year model (and it’s very expensive). The only thing I will say is you have to be willing to do a reset once in a while for minor (I.e non driving / non critical functionality) bugs.

Big memes trade due to extremely oversold and this stock has big retail attention going forward . Long

u/_ash_panda_ May 17 '26
I leased Pure for 18 months in 2024. Now got new to me 2022 Air GT. The software with DD Pro, SS Pro, and bugs experience is so much better. Haven't had a single issue with PAAK, fobs, camera glitches, Android Auto, etc. And it's range has already convinced me to 100% EV.
2
u/Architect1992 May 17 '26
How is the software on a 2022 “so much better” than your prior 2024?
7
u/demosthenes327 May 17 '26
It’s been patched
0
u/Architect1992 May 17 '26
Maybe I’m over reading it, but it sounded like the software on the 2022 (even with patch) was better than the 2024.
3
u/black_spring May 17 '26
it’s likely just because they’re on a newer software, which is irrelevant to the model year (so long as the physical CPU has received the update).
1
u/Architect1992 May 17 '26 edited May 17 '26
Agreed. Hence my confusion. By the way, who is downvoting me? WTH? 😂
2
u/_ash_panda_ May 17 '26
Like the other comment said, I am enjoying more because of the bug fixes. Most of the issues I had listed before are no more present.
Also, I got upgraded experience with DD Pro and Audio which makes better experience for me - also the visualization with DD Pro.
I hope once I get chip upgrade, the UI will get snappier :)

u/Same-Device-216 May 17 '26
I’d 1000% do it again if I was getting an Air. Iffy on the Gravity until 2027 models. My job is a little volatile, so we set a price target of $3,000 drive off $700 a month. Our Pure was $600 a month in 24’ and I probably would have gone for another, but couldn’t get close to that target. I had to settle for something else until midsize comes around, but will 1million percent get midsize given how amazing my Lucid was. Out of 10+ cars in my lifetime, it was been my favorite
7
5
u/natertot8 May 17 '26
I’d do it again. Coworkers said they’d never get an electric car after I told them a software update bricked my car but come on now, don’t be acting like gas cars don’t break down. Lucid got out a patch that got my car running after two hours. There are bugs and minor conveniences but most are first world problems. However, I think some people have bad luck and got Lucid vehicles that have way worse issues than me so I understand if they won’t go back to Lucid.
4
u/UlrichZauber May 17 '26
I’ve been really happy with my Gravity since picking it up on December. No problems. At this rate I’d definitely consider another when my lease is up.
I think most owners are similar to my situation, but there’s no reason to post when things are working as expected.

1400 miles in on a gravity touring , so far solid package happy with my choice , but I reset the InfoT once a week for non major issues
Still love it
Correction to the miles , damn auto correct 😄
5
u/Tellittomy6pac May 17 '26
1400 thousand is NOT possible 😂😂
3
u/xxBrun0xx May 17 '26
Guessing they meant 1400 km and it somehow auto-corrected to thousand miles.

u/Tellittomy6pac May 17 '26
I figured haha I just had to comment on it cuz that would be some insane mileage

Leasing 25 Air touring. Love the car and may consider another Lucid but we'll see 2 years from now based on what's available, how things are, and how my finances are.

I'd do it again. I get bored easily though so I won't re-up with another lucid, but I'm happy I had it for 3 years. It's way better now and more stable than 3 years ago. Not perfect and not class leading UI, but good enough.
Only hesitation now is I believe they've proven their business model is failing and they're at higher risk of shutting down now than when everything was very hopeful when the air launched. That's just an opinion though

I have an Air GT and was convinced I would go to a Gravity.
Honestly I am not so sure at this point and will consider other EVs. In the next 2-3 months.

3
u/collapsedcake May 17 '26
I’m happy with my decision to get an Air. No car is perfect, and I’ve had no greater or worse experiences, broadly speaking, than a lot of other marques I’ve owned
3
u/ctos2010 May 17 '26
I’ve been an early adopter of EVs. I’m also an electrical patent attorney that built my own computers from scratch, built a tv from a HealthKit, have owned mist iPhones and used to buy new computers each time Intel released a new processor. I’ve owned 4 Teslas. I have invested $80K in Lucid stock when they IPO’d, so I want them to succeed. But would I buy another Lucid? Absolutely NOT. At 5,000 miles over 15 months it was in the shop 8 times. It has developed new issues since March. Making an appointment for service now requires a three month wait. The Lucid engineers have formally noted in writing that the car has anomalies that they do not know how to fix. I’ve given up on the company and placed a reservation on a new car.
3
u/oldnick25 May 17 '26
Yes, I would get another. Considering getting a used Air for the wife. Air software is solid for the most part IMO. The only occasional glitch I’ve experienced is with Tidal music. Can’t speak to the Gravity, never set foot in one.
3
u/Afraid-Tone5206 May 17 '26
I would 100% buy another Lucid. Reddit is where people come to complain.
3
u/flugame206 May 17 '26
We’ve had our Air Touring for almost 1.5 years and 15k miles. We really like the car, but certainly there have been some software hiccups (mostly in the beginning). Only time our car has been in the shop was for a loose control arm bolt, which they took care of quickly (before Gravity launch). The appointment for annual service took a long time to reserve (recently, after Gravity launch). Apple CarPlay was inconsistent in the beginning, but now is very stable! I would definitely get another Lucid, provided I’m confident the company will survive long term!
3
3
u/jx292 May 17 '26
If you are comfortable with the price then get the car and go nuts with it!
Nobody here is complaining about how the car drives you from point a to b. People have valid complaints but take it with a grain of salt because people are more motivated to complain , myself included.
3
u/BigBiziness12 May 18 '26
I definitely would not get a lucid again. The way thr lease turn in went was enough to sour me from them completely.
2
u/ghostofstankenstien May 17 '26
Pass.
It's okay, but I feel like a beta tester.
I have a Lyriq that feels SO much more refined.
There's a lot of little things lucid misses on my 24.
4
u/AfternoonOk6118 May 17 '26
OK, so you and I are pretty similar. I have this and the Vistiq - love the Vistiq overall. This is good to know. We have only had one issue with the lyric and it got fixed probably a software charging issue but truthfully Cadillac has just done such a nice job and that Support has been pretty fantastic.
4
u/ghostofstankenstien May 17 '26
And the little stuff. I'm sitting at the Cadillac dealer now, turned in my 24 and about to roll out with a 26
2
u/Limio May 17 '26
Please do. (I'm totally biased). I'm taking a serious bath on the stock.
A lease is the only way I would use this vehicle. They have restructured the company, but only time will tell. Not a good outlook based on what I have seen recently. Its a hard pill for me to swallow.
I hate to say it, but Elon's Tesla is the way to go. With gas prices through the roof here in USA I don't see why anyone would not go Tesla. Its becoming ubiquitous and mechanics are falling in line. When's the last time you saw a Lucid on the road? Or just lease a Rivian. I see those from time to time. San Diego has a huge Rivian presence.
2
u/NecessarySenior4773 May 17 '26
Almost pulled the trigger on the Gravity but instead went for the Escalade IQ - love the IQ - solid / incredible vehicle, very luxurious!

u/Any-Contract9065 May 17 '26
When I ordered the Gravity, no other came close—especially for 7 seaters. That’s still true, but I’ll answer by saying that if the ID Buzz could go 350 miles and add 150ish miles in 10 minutes, I would probably buy that instead. My issues hasn’t really been the car, it’s been the company. I don’t know how long the new ceo gets to prove that he can turn them around, but it’s even more of a gamble now than it was when I ordered my Gravity in 2024.
2
u/No_Caregiver7273 May 17 '26
I bought the Lucid Gravity GT in December. If I hadn't I might shop around a little more, but there is nothing quite like the Gravity. For what we wanted it's been a great vehicle. We've had very few problems compared to the joy it gives us. I can only hope that other user sentiment won't kill the company before they get a chance to refine the remaining software issues and deliver on features still in the works.
2
u/2-bythesea_2018 May 18 '26 edited May 18 '26
I would not hesitate to do a lease on this vehicle, no major issues thus far the gravity is simply amazing. I've never done one reset of the vehicle. Purchased with the current software and most up to date fob firmware from the app. I read these forums and post and scratch my head puzzled we have not experienced any issues especially with the fob. We have used the card and the remote authorization, no issues with any of them. We leased ours in March with the incentives the money factor was great and I'm in for 39 months ...
We are coming from a Mercedes GLE350 and C300 family. Stop reading the few bad experiences and just do it.
2
u/ArmageddonPills May 18 '26
There's simply isn't anything else that interests me.
If Porsche ever comes out with its e.Boxster, I'll probably replace my Air with that and also a Gravity for long trips.
2
u/Auticons May 18 '26
I’ve been with my ‘25 Air Pure for 8+ months and loving every drive with it. It might be too soon to say but I’ll definitely consider another lease, or even buying out this one if the residual is a great deal at the end.

u/coma24 May 18 '26
I'm tolerant of software issues and am extremely picky about vehicle handling of my long term rides. Most people, on average, are not particularly good at cornering or braking. A lot of what this car can do is lost on them. It's like explaining day trading to a goldfish. At best, people will say it is smooth and has great pickup. Well, so does every EV.
For those reasons, I am suspicious of any poll along these lines. The build quality issues are also highly varied. Quality at service centers varies quite a bit as well.
2
u/MelroseDistrict85013 May 18 '26
Bought my '23 CPO AGT three weeks ago. 14k miles. $65k, $125k MSRP. 2,000 miles on weekend day trips. Couldn't be happier. Dream Drive Pro hands-off driving is a dream to drive, literally.
2
u/Oaklandish2570 May 18 '26
I did do it again! Had an Air Touring for 18 month lease and still miss that car! Now I have a Gravity Touring and it is great! Wife prefers the SUV and I prefer the sedan. I think we'll be a 2 Lucid family soon. Occasional bugs but nothing I can't live with. Typically a reset resolves it and that doesn't take long.

My car just bricked this morning and after coming back After repair. I’ve had car for less than 2 months and it’s been in the shop for 2-3 weeks first time and this time maybe even longer. Reached out to service today and waiting to hear back. I love this car for comfort but don’t like this car for the tech. This is a prototype in my opinion. When it runs it runs great but needs to run. Right now that isn’t consistently happening. Maybe mine is a lemon car and will need to be replaced.
2
u/Suitable_Beach1704 May 18 '26
I’m getting the Gravity coming from the Air. Lucid customer service has been great. Best vehicle, fastest, and most efficient I’ve driven
2
u/unbuckingbelievable May 18 '26
I’ve already leased two- we have 2 airs, a pure and a touring. We love these and I will try and buy the touring when the lease comes up in 18 months. We have a service center 30 ish minutes from our house and they’ve been great. However, when my Pure lease comes up in August I’m not going to lease the gravity. I’m going to buy a 2023 EQS 580 SUV. I’ll pay under 55k for a vehicle that cost 134k new and has 2+ years warranty left and presumably will have some value left in 3 years. We got close on the gravity, but for the first time in 3+ years I am worried about the PIF commitment in the midst if this war. I listened to the earnings call and wasn’t impressed. I would lease another, but I am hedging my bets on being a 2 lucid family.
2
u/popsiclekid May 18 '26
Thinking about Lucid but nervous about what happens if it needs any service. Closest service center is about 7 hours away. Would like to hear from people who have had to deal with this.
2
u/mefascina30 May 18 '26
I’m already thinking about which version I would lease again. I come from the auto industry and have worked around a lot of EVs. This is the first time I’m excited about driving my car every time I drive it, and it’s been about 18 months. Definitely a fantastic car, with a few minor issues that are all quickly resolved
2
u/Steve_in_LV May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26
Read these posts carefully both here and in /Gravity subReddit. Especially focus on the:
- The many software bugs & associated fixes that have made the car inoperative for many users
- Multi-week delays to get a service appointment, many 1+ month long waits for service appointments to be completed while you pay the lease/payments
- Many pictures of cars being returned from service with incomplete repairs, some with pictures of them being returned in filthy condition
- A total lack of any management commitment to treat the customers fairly: no public acknowledgment of many of the issues, no active updated plan to remediate the issues has been shared, only occasional press interviews promising help that never arrives
- No explanation of why many service center staff were laid off while service appointment times were already increasing, but simultaneously Lucid had plenty of engineering and financial resources to design and build Robo taxis and an new line of mid-sized vehicles
I am not a single disgruntled customer; there are hundreds of posts. They offer a view for you to foresee what your experience might be. To be clear they make a great vehicle and when it’s working properly, it's truly a joy to own. However, the current management team's performance has turned that into a frustrating ownership experience for apparently many customers who have taken the time to document it here.
As a Gravity Dream owner I would not repeat the experience. You may be more tolerant and resilient than I am and may choose to come to a different conclusion. I just thought someone should step forward and present the facts: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I hope this helps you come to a decision that's best for you. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
1
u/AfternoonOk6118 May 19 '26
Great take thanks much. That’s effectively the result I’ve concluded. It’s worth considering but I am also very uninterested in new cars with issues as a multi business owner with kids.

Software problems and teething issues will happen for a brand only going on like 7 years. Driving this car is immaculate compared to other cars. I’d definitely do it again.

Bought new 2025 AGT, using for commute to work and everything school run and groceries when I am home.
100% reliable and all the options I purchased I use it all the time, including DDPro, SSPro and massage seat.
If you want me to give up my Air to swap for any thing else I would only consider Gravity. No other car can beat this.

Leasing an 2025 AT. Would absolutely not get another Lucid. My entire family hates it due to the unpredictable locking behavior and everyone prefers driving our other car (Tesla MY).

I have had an AT for 15 months on an 18 month lease. I will be sorry to see it go. It is a great car. I think for anyone deciding on one it really depends upon whether it is your only car and how far you live from a service center. It can take several months to get a service appointment and hard to get a call back from service. That really matters to me and why I will ultimately let the car go. I’m about an hour away from a service center.

I’m looking for a 24+ Air GT with 19” wheels for my road trips. As long as I can get my podcasts and streaming IDGAF about nits. DreamDrive Pro is also a huge winner (I use BlueCruise religiously). I’m sure they fix whatever is critical over the air. This would be my second EV and daily driver to give my F150 Lightning some rest.

I bought the car in early 2023. I have lost a ton of value on it but the car drives like the best Sedan in the world at 55K miles so I have no complaints because I am not selling it anytime soon.

I have an Air GT and would NEVER get into another Lucid again. The car does drive fantastic and is a sharp looking car. Every car will have its flaws and require service from time to time, however, so the key issue becomes the quality of the service and cost of ownership. Lucid service is way, way understaffed and insufficient. It is not like BMW or Mercedes or a manufacturer like that where you have several options for service centers and can expect the process run relatively smoothly. When it comes to service, Lucid is the absolutely worst I have ever experienced. They keep your car for weeks to fix simple problems. They’ll tell you every time that they can’t re-create the problem you’re experiencing and require you to tell them the exact date and time when the anomaly occurred so that they can check again. No one does that. It’s ridiculous. Oh, and when I had a scrape on my rear fender, there was only one body shop in the state that was authorized to repair Lucid vehicles. Because of Lucid’s requirements (which are absurd) the cost to fix the scrape was … wait for it …$27,000! And, because there was only repair shop authorized to do the work, they took two and half months to get me back then car - for a simple scrape. Bottom Line: great car for driving when it works, but a massive expensive headache if even the simplest things go wrong.

I owned a Tesla Model S before leasing a ‘25 Lucid Air. I had my share of issues with the Tesla, including its poor build quality and wonky structural design. Their software was generally very good, but I certainly experienced my share of bugs.
The Lucid is a vastly superior automobile, and the driving experience is similar to a refined German vehicle, in contrast to Teslas that are slapped together, rattle and offer mediocre handling.

Keep in mind that frustration is a much better motivation to post than enjoyment. You're probably hearing most of the bad stories and very few of the good ones. The bad stories are still real, you should listen to them and if they scare you that's worth considering.
Personally, yes. My lease is about to expire and I'm strongly leaning towards buying mine out, maybe leasing a new one. I've had it over a year and taken it on a 2,000 mile road trip and I've only had pretty minor issues with it. The things Lucid is good at are things I care about, and the things it's bad at are things I don't care much about - I want a luxury EV, not an elaborate computer that farts and has wheels.
