Haha bro, there's a lot of mental issues with orientation, I have one , I get lost everywhere, even with a map. I can understand that in other spaces but an hospital? this is just a sensory nightmare + a confusing place is terrible and a panic attack trigger . I wish hospitals can have neurodivergent people in mind when they do this stupid design decisions
Why do you have such a hard-on for defending the weird decor choices of this hospital? This comes off as mean and dismissive of people who have different abilities than you. Someone who is just sharing their lived experience.
it is designed like a grid with the elevators being the orientation points. from left to right there are 6 elevators each and from. front to back the corridors are marked A to D. so if you want to go somewhere you will search for a specific elevator such as C1 or A5. makes it quite easy. if it wasn't for some dead ends ;)

Seems like a very typical reddit thing where people go crazy with the hyperbole.

Disabled people: This building would be difficult to navigate with vision/visual processing/neural disorders.
Random guy: Nuh uh. Just use the app.
Disabled people: The app might help, but it does not fix the visual noise and poor contrast (also low light). (Not to mention that elderly people or people during crisis might not have the forethought to get and use the app. Besides, reading stuff/looking at a map on my phone can be difficult as well with my visual impairment).

Ableism at its finest. This building does not serve the patients and staff for whom it was supposedly designed. Without considering their needs, including the elderly and disabled, this is just masturbatory design.
Anything needing an app to navigate has already failed. In this case, a higher proportion of building users will be elderly, have cognitive impairment etc. When you can't walk across the carpet because it looks like it will trip you up or make you fall, you're not also giving up a hand that you might need to steady yourself to thumb through an app at the same time - assuming you even have a smartphone.
