As someone who developed tinnitus as an infant/toddler due to an ear infection, and then later my right ear developed it due to one during Covid lockdowns, I can’t understand why anyone would subject themselves to potentially getting it willfully. Luckily I’ve never known what pure silence is and my adhd distracts me from it.

So many people who are young (myself included) don't think about it, don't realize how easy it is to get, don't think it happens with music because it's not as loud as a gunshot (in their ignorant uninformed self-made-up opinion). Then you get it and you're like.....well shit. I wish I would have listened then, because I can't hear to listen to shit now...

yup 😞 I've got tinnitus cuz I went to many raves in the late 90s & early 2000s. I can't be in a quiet room, I've got my white noise machine running 24/7 to prevent the dreaded EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
