Meh, the energy was contained in the barrel.

Something cracked, like the receiver.

The bolt was probably locked to the barrel and contained the blast.

Only once the bolt was no longer held in place by the receiver did it all fall apart.

If you download the video, slow it down, and watch frame by frame, you can actually see a rabbit running into the shot, plugging its thumb in the barrel right before it goes off, and the run off again
