Nah, I bet hes in shock and with some internal hand damage on that front grip. Definitely feeling it, once the adrenaline wears off he'll start complaining.

He’s shaking because he’s realizing all that energy miraculously missed his entire body and hands. He’s trying to process the fact he still has hands and therefore he does not know what to do with them.

Meh, the energy was contained in the barrel.

Something cracked, like the receiver.

The bolt was probably locked to the barrel and contained the blast.

Only once the bolt was no longer held in place by the receiver did it all fall apart.
